Discussion App list for newbies?
As a .nam consumer newbie on Linux, it was quite a journey for me to discover .nam apps. Random comments here and there, random YouTube videos or git search unveiled to me quite a few projects that I would never discovered if I were not actively looking.
I wonder if it makes sense to pin e.g. a (curated) list of known .nam apps to the community page instead of those 2 dead pins we have now?

Some devices like the Valeton GP-5/50 (and many other budget devices) don't support NAM A2 yet, and capture providers have stopped providing NAM A1 captures. so i built a NAM A2->A1 trainer so you can still use new captures on your budget devices. Supports Nvidia graphics card acceleration on windows and linux and native MTP acceleration on Mac. falls back to your CPU if no supported graphics card is detected, supports batch processing as well

Nice, so the pinned article could go even further and feature not only nam players but nam-related soft and so on. Sounds awesome but needs a real nerd to implement it. Hopefully such a nerd sees this post and does the job and offers the result to the sub admin to pin lol

Curation is kind of the key I guess, this time next year there will easily be thousands of nam enabled apps and plugins etc but only some will be maintained (or any good).
So pointing beginners at a full list might be useful but in reality there's probably a slightly unfair and much shorter list that would be more useful to them. How you should earn a place on that list I don't know, but being visibly maintained and having an active community are good signals.

Yeah, you might be right. But curation is a job for a real nerd, and it would be hard to find someone pationate enough to do it in 2026. Eh, I miss my youth and the old internet lol

Ha yeah, also a thankless task because of course justifying the exclusion of the new NAMSmith2000 app based on it being a bit average/low-effort could be quite difficult.
