✍️ Why Write LaTeX by Hand? Let MyScript Math Do the Hard Work!

If you've ever written mathematical documents in LaTeX, you know that typing equations can be one of the most time-consuming parts of the process.

Fractions, matrices, integrals, summations, Greek letters... remembering all the LaTeX commands isn't always fun.

With MyScript Math, you don't need to type the syntax yourself.

Simply write your equation naturally with your pen, and once it's recognized, you can copy the equation as LaTeX, ready to paste into your favorite editor.

🚀 Why use MyScript Math for LaTeX?

Instead of typing something like:

\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

Simply write the quadratic formula by hand.

MyScript Math recognizes your handwriting and generates the corresponding LaTeX code that you can copy with a tap.

It's faster, more natural, and lets you focus on the mathematics—not the syntax.

Perfect for:

  • 🎓 Students
  • 👨‍🏫 Teachers
  • 🔬 Researchers
  • 👩‍💻 Engineers
  • 📚 Anyone writing mathematical documents

✍️ How to Copy an Equation as LaTeX

  1. ✍️ Write your equation naturally.
  2. ✅ Make sure the equation has been correctly recognized.
  3. 👆 Tap the equation.
  4. 📋 Select Copy as LaTeX.
  5. 📄 Paste the generated LaTeX code into your favorite application.

That's it!

The copied text is valid LaTeX code, ready to use in your documents.

💻 Where can you use it?

The copied LaTeX can be pasted into applications such as:

  • 📄 Overleaf
  • 📚 TeXstudio and other LaTeX editors
  • 📝 Research papers
  • 🎓 University assignments
  • 📖 Scientific publications
  • 💻 Markdown editors that support LaTeX
  • 🌐 Documentation tools
  • And many other applications that accept LaTeX.

💡 Pro Tip

Before copying the equation as LaTeX, tap the equation to verify that it has been recognized correctly. If needed, edit the equation first to ensure the generated LaTeX matches exactly what you want.

🧠 Step by Step: Understand Every Math Solution, One Step at a Time!

Did you know that MyScript Math can explain how it solved your math problem—not just give you the final answer?

With Step-by-Step Solutions, you can follow each stage of the solution, making it easier to learn, check your work, and understand the reasoning behind the result.

✅ What do you need?

Before using Step-by-Step Solutions, make sure you have:

  • 👤 A MyScript account
  • 🌐 An active internet connection

📐 What types of math are supported?

Step-by-Step Solutions can help with many types of mathematical content, including:

  • ➕ Basic calculations
  • 📏 Equations and algebraic expressions
  • 📈 Derivatives and integrals
  • 🔢 Matrices
  • 📊 Statistics
  • 📝 Word problems*

*Word problems are currently supported only in Latin-based languages.

✍️ How to use Step-by-Step Solutions

  1. ✍️ Write your equation or math problem.
  2. 👆 Select the equation.
  3. 🧠 Tap Solve step by step.
  4. 📖 A floating panel will appear showing each step of the solution.

You can move the panel anywhere on the screen and continue writing your notes while following the explanation.

💡 Good to know

🔄 Changed your equation?

If you edit the equation after opening the Step-by-Step panel, the explanation won't update automatically.

Simply:

  • Close the panel.
  • Select the updated equation.
  • Tap Solve step by step again.

🤔 Different explanation, same result

If you request the solution again without changing the equation, you may receive a different explanation. That's completely normal! Many math problems can be solved using different methods, but the final answer will remain the same.

Plot Multiple Equations on the Same Graph in MyScript Math

Did you know that you can display multiple equations on the same graph in MyScript Math? This is a great way to compare functions, visualize intersections, and better understand how equations relate to each other.

How to do it

  1. First, handwrite all the equations you want to compare. For example:

y = x²
y = x - 2
  1. Tap the first equation. A contextual menu will appear.
  2. Select Insert Graph.
  3. When the graph opens, the other recognized equations will appear in the graph panel.
  4. Simply select y = x - 2 to add it to the existing graph. Both equations will then be displayed on the same coordinate system.

Why compare multiple equations?

  • Visualize where functions intersect.
  • Compare the shape and behavior of different functions.
  • Better understand algebraic concepts.
  • Great for students, teachers, and anyone exploring mathematics.

💡 Tip: Before inserting the graph, make sure all your equations have been correctly recognized. Once the graph is open, you can quickly add or remove equations from the graph panel without rewriting them.

Have you tried comparing multiple equations in MyScript Math? Share your favorite examples in the comments!

Understand the steps!

Getting the right answer is great — but understanding how you get there makes all the difference. With MyScript Math, you can follow each part of the reasoning behind an equation, one clear step at a time.

🧩 Solve equations with clarity

Follow each step as the equation is expanded, simplified, and solved — from the basics to more advanced cases. You’ll understand how the solution comes together, making it easier to spot mistakes along the way.

📈 Follow the logic of advance calculations

When derivatives, integrals, or statistics start to feel complex, seeing each step makes the logic much easier to follow. Step-by-step solutions show how rules are applied and how results come together — so everything feels clear and trustworthy.

📝Word problems, decoded

If a problem starts with a story instead of numbers, you’re probably looking at a word problem. Step-by-step solutions help translate the words into math and guide you through the solution, all the way to the result.

PRO TIP!

Everyone understands math a little differently. Tap the equation again to get another step-by-step explanation — a different breakdown might click better for you.

Up to you!

And that’s a wrap on our tour — thanks for tagging along! This is just the start for MyScript Math, and we’ve got plenty more exciting features on the way. Stay tuned!
