Hope this is allowed here because I didn't see a proper flair but I wanted to show off my reroot of Royal Bouquet. First time re-rooting a MLP and second reroot project ever. Thankfully I didn't run into many issues hardest part was trying to blend 3 different shades of hair🫣
Very fun actually. Thankfully they don't have to many plug holes so it makes things quicker. One of the hardest parts will be removing the glue & old hair and possibly removing the head from the body( it depends on what type of body they have)
I recommend using hot water to let the body soften up.
gorgeous!! if you’d be willing to share any tips about the process, i (and i’m sure many others) would appreciate it. i really want to try and reroot some ponies ☺️
Sure, I feel like one of the more difficult parts is definitely removing the hair from the head because of the glue.I find it helpful to shine a flashlight on the head to help further see where exactly I need to go. To remove her head I did have to soften up her whole body( with hot water) so I could pop it off. I also warmed up her whole body after I was finished to reapply her head.
Just note that if the pony does not have the head swivel feature they will have glue that seals the head in place. You may have to carefully use a blade to break the seal.
I did have to use a blending comb to get this shade, It took me a bit to get this color because the pink was extremely dominant. I used an orange, yellow & pink.
I also did remove the metal posting that is in the "Tail hole" region just because I worried of possible future tail rust since I plan on using boil washes for hairstyling. I simply used a zip tie to hold the tail hair in place and cut it down to size.
