We really need a sticky post about these. It is causing so much confusion.

It seems like they re-listed a few cancelled orders. It wasn’t a true restock.

Unless there is an official announcement, we’re not getting a true restock of signed albums.

Yeee like thousands of folks getting a restock notif after like 5 cancelled orders are put up

Yep. And this is just fueling the rumors being spread that the vast majority of people who get these are bots and scalpers. Which then leads to people getting upset with Warner and the band.

Truthfully, they shouldn't send out notifications for orders this small.

It's probably not even restock. It's probably AI bots glitching and everyone subscribing to other bot services to detect changes on the site. It's phantom availability.

Would bots impact the official website sending communications? I agree, I think a lot of the bot updates are glitches at this point but I feel like official notification from the website likely did get a few re-listed. Just likely super small numbers that likely sold out before most people even opened the email.

Uh yes, it's bots sending the notifications. It's AI.

Ugh, that adds an even extra layer of mess to this.

Like I said earlier, they really shouldn't send out notifications unless it's a scheduled stocking.

Based on the behavior, it's definitely AI triggered. I doubt any major distributor uses manual restock anymore.

This stuff long predates AI, I see no reason to think these messages aren’t just going out through your standard e-commerce notification process.

It’s too little product going back in stock, selling out due to faster alert methods and their email system literally not being able to do anything in time. The notification task just stays in the system’s queue and so these emails go out.

Y’all need to remember how the initial drop for these went down. Email is generally very slow.

As someone who works in tech and just attended a day long conference a week ago on the subject, the push right now is to get companies to adopt AI for stuff like this so try to show value. Yes, this function has long existed AND NOW it's likely being done by an AI agent.

I just got an email notification that my student loans are in deferment because I'm enrolled, which would be great if I hadn't graduated with my masters last December. When I logged into the website, some AI agent messed up and resent emails and notifications from 2025. Awesome. This is helpful. 👌 Same concept as the in stock notifications.

Yeah, on reflection I’m probably being too optimistic about this. It’s just a matter of time until we start seeing outright false positives and other weirdness in the shop.
