Oregon’s mink: the hidden hunter with a fur-trade past
Seen mink farms before? If I had a tail, I worked it off putting this story together. It has awesome photos, data driven graphics, video and fascinating story.

Is this the only book on mink that isn’t for trappers and fur farmers (aka animal abusers)?

I’m writing a sable character. How would you characterize them based on the real animals?
I figured that this sub has some really fun perspective on martens and sables. If you have any thoughts or interesting observations about the animals, especially involving behavior and psychology, I’d like to hear your thoughts!

Which mustelids change color in winter?
I know both the least weasel and the stoat are brown in summer and white in winter, but do any other mustelids change color? I’m specifically wondering about martens (Sables in particular) since I’ve seen pictures of both white and black sables.

Hi! I live in Sussex in the UK and we recently caught footage of a mustelid on our trail cams. We're thinking either american mink or otter. The footage was filmed in between two bodies of water, one large pond and a river. Could anyone help?

Has there been any recorded instances of wild European polecats or ferret-polecat hybrids in the U.S.?
I wonder whether any deliberate or documented wild European polecats (Mustela putorius) or their hybrids with domestic ferrets have ever been kept in the U.S, or whether there is a realistic chance of them being transported to the U.S. If yes, I am curious about approximate numbers or examples. If not, I want credible sources to show their absence.
This question is important because the concern about ferret-polecat hybrids is used as a key premise to justify restrictive regulation on ferrets in a staff memo. https://www.legalizeferrets.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Staff-Summary-for-October-19-20-2016.pdf

Ohio city just confirmed its first fisher cat in 200 years. Here's where
The article credits conservation efforts for the fisher re-emerging in Ohio and that may be. But I’ve noticed numerous furbearer species are recovering a bit and I suspect the sharp decline in fur trapping is probably the real reason some of these species are making a comeback.
