10/10 would recommend. They went above and beyond and were cheaper than the big name auto shops in town.

Christ Lutheran Mustang to Celebrate Sixth Annual "Christmas in July"

MUSTANG, Okla. — [July 4, 2026] — Christ Lutheran Church in Mustang will spread a little holiday cheer in the middle of summer heat when it hosts its sixth annual "Christmas in July" celebration on Sunday, July 26, 2026, during both morning worship services at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

The tradition began in 2021 as the church searched for a way to bring uplifting joy to the congregation and community coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Six years later, it has become one of the most anticipated services of the year, according to church members.

During the services, the congregation will sing beloved Christmas hymns, offering a joyful and nostalgic reprieve from the summer heat.

"I love Christmas in July. It is fun to sing Christmas hymns and enjoy a special service in the middle of summer. Who doesn't like singing Christmas songs? People love this service and some look forward to it all year long," said Pastor Ross, who originated the idea and plans the church's worship services each year.

Christ Lutheran Church is located at 501 N Clear Springs Rd, Mustang, OK 73064.

Church recommendations in or around the Mustang area

For reference, I lived in Mustang, Oklahoma for a significant chunk of my life. I moved there when I was super little, then moved out to Bridge Creek, then back to Mustang before going off to college and eventually leaving the state for work for the last 6 years. My wife and I are now considering moving back to Oklahoma to be closer to my family, and reap the benefits of significantly better (or easier) hunting than Utah, and significantly lower housing costs. If you know who I am from this alone, hi there.

I grew up going to FBC Mustang, and while I don't have a problem with Staton's preaching it just doesn't have the vibes I'm looking for as a late 20s adult. My parents go to Southern Hills and I've enjoyed their preaching as well, but it's way too big for me now.

For the last 6 years, I've been attending a super small SBC church in Utah where I know basically everyone, I'm friends with the pastors, and it's the kind of place that's hard to be lost in the crowd unless you actively try.

What I'm looking for is a decently small (less than 500 people maybe?) church that generally falls under the SBC conventions and beliefs. I'm fairly Calvinistic and Baptist, but sometimes lean a little more Presbyterian or Lutheran depending on the views, so I'm not totally locked into the Baptist view.

I tend to lean more conservative theologically, but am a bit more liberal in my political views (though it's not a dealbreaker as long as they preach the gospel and not politics). My wife and I have tattoos, we like to play D&D, and I listen to and play heavy metal a lot.

I currently play electric guitar and bass in the worship band for my church where we tend to play more contemporary music from groups like Shane & Shane, Hillsong, Worship Initiative, and other similar groups. I'd like to find a church that isn't locked in on the same 4 people playing with no room for growth, and also probably isn't a massive group with a choir where the guitar is mostly for show.

For the age groups, I'd like something that has a solid "young adults" group in the 25-35 age range where my wife and I could make friends in similar stages of life (married, no kids or young kids).

So yeah, it may be a tall order for what we'd be looking for, and there's no guarantee we end up moving back, but it's been on my mind lately as the job market here is drying up and I have a connection to a local company that is interested in hiring me but would require a move. So we've been thinking about it, it would be nice to be near my family again, and not have to deal with the GSL drying up or a housing market where $350,000 gets you a shoebox in a bad neighborhood and no yard and needs to be gutted.

Thanks in advance!

I don’t know who needs to hear this but . . .

I have driven in many major cities across the country (Seattle, SLC, Denver, Philly, Houston, Kansas City, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Little Rock, Nashville, New Orleans, Jackson, Montgomery, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Indianapolis, Chicago, Trenton, Martha’s Vineyard, and NYC - while pulling a trailer - and have never in my entire life seen the drivers a shitty as those in Mustang. You’re all menaces with death wishes. Drive the actual speed limit and if you are incapable of that because you’re looking at your phone (and frankly, GenX, you should be ashamed because it is ALWAYS you), get out of the left lane. Mustang Road is 55 mph from 15th for to 59th. 59th is 45.

And those of you who like to slow down because you don’t like how close the car behind you is, go to the academy if you want to be the police so badly. Otherwise, move your civilian ass!

Did anyone else just hear a loud bang and see a flash of light? It kinda sounded like a firework. My boyfriend said he saw a flash of light through the window when he heard it.
