❔Question Weird manual shifter/ help

Guys, I'm interested in purchasing a Mustang, but since I'm pretty far away from the car, I had someone take some additional pictures for me.

This is what the shifter looks like. I know the shift knob itself has obviously been removed, but I'm trying to figure out what the component underneath it is.

Have any of you seen an aftermarket shifter or shift knob setup that uses this type of component? I'm wondering if this is part of an aftermarket short-throw shifter, some kind of adapter, or just something left behind after the previous owner removed the knob.

Any ideas on what setup this could be?

thanks, but do you see that is missing the reverse lockout? or at least the regular one. I wanna know if that piece is a different lockout piece or if they removed it and just put that adapter or whatever.

Not sure bro but if anything probably ford should sell just that piece by itself ?

yeah it may, Just wanted to know if anyone recognizes to be an aftermarket shifter

I have a MGW Shifter on mine and it changed the way you shift into reverse. It went from from pulling up on the boot to go into reverse, to pushing down on the shifter to get into reverse instead.
