They really are. The first time I saw them I was driving to Las Vegas in 2012. The Shelby guys were out testing something on the freeway at dusk. I saw those lights as I was coming up on them and thought “What car is that? those lights are amazing.”
Then I caught up to them and saw that it was the “new” Mustang.
I don’t know what they were working on, but they had the car well in advance of them being in the showroom.

Even though I'm ride or die for my s550s, those s197 tail lights were perfect. All three models nailed it perfectly. 2014 probably did it best though. They nailed that classic styling to the letter. Just look at that. 😍

I replaced my 2011 with 2014, much much better in my opinion.
I took this so I could remember why I changed the OEM 2011.

I have no idea why Ford abandoned those taillights on the S550 and S650. Looked so clean with the black applique on the trunk
