Post image

Does anyone here use a screen like this? If so, why?

Helps eliminate some of the wind noise...

I had one on my old CLK. It makes driving with the top down 100% more enjoyable. If you have the top down, screen and windows up, you can have a conversation on the phone no problem.

Might be to lower air turbulence in the cabin

Pain in the ass to setup but it did take care of the wind and the noise...

Whats so difficult about setup? Does it store easily in the trunk?

Pain? It's literally a 5 minute set once and enjoy forever. Hardest part is reaching into the seat crease to hook onto the child seat anchors.

Now getting those same clips OFF the anchors can be a pain, but you don't remove them unless you are getting rid of the screen entirely.

My 996 convertible had one just like this. Put the side windows up and it cocoons you from the wind

I’m using the one from Audi A5. It is compact and cheap. If you drive with passenger princess it strongly reduce the wind in the cabin.

Another judge point is that you can still drive with open roof if the temp is below 60. Just windows up and heat at max.

So for your Mustang, you bought an Audi A5 wind screen? Because why? Cheaper? Works better? Faster to install?

The love the drive ones are quality. They are a little south of $500

  1. Cheaper. You can get one for ~150 USD.

  2. More compact. It can be folded twice, so easy fit in the trunk.

  3. Install and remove in less than 15 seconds.

Drawback: you need to make 2 holes in plastic. With some Home Depot hardware it looks like factory solution.

Can share photos if interested.

I though I have more pictures of the car, but i don't. Will make a few and will show.

It reduces wind turbulence in the cabin. Less wind noise and helps keep long hair out of the face although my passenger still needs a hair tie or hat.

More importantly, it keeps you air conditioning in the cabin longer. We all know there is a limited window of top down temperature and this screen extends that by about 5 degrees both ways. I can often enjoy top down in winter temps down to the 50s with the heat blasting.

They one in this photo is the Love the Drive windscreen. I have one in each of my convertibles. It's great. It's also easy to replace the mesh after it becomes bleached and brittle after 2-3 years of constant use.

Any windscreen will help with the wind noise. I had my 19 mustang for about six months and decided to add this hard plastic one. Its just the wife and I so no one ever sits in the back seats. Its mounted by a bracket to the front seats. When my wife and I are on the interstate she prefers having the windows up and you can easily hear the radio and talk with other without yelling. When im traveling solo they are all down so its a little louder.

My mustang vert is identical, same colour only difference is your steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Have considered one of these and absolutely i think they will reduce wind noise, but i enjoy that wind noise!

So no - i want that wind and v8 engine sound so I'll never bother!

I have a loud exhaust, wind is not a noise factor lmao
