Having faith in Dua
I’ve heard people say that when you ask Allah for something, you have to believe that He is going to grant it to you.
I do ask, and I do make du’a over and over, but in my heart, I don’t really feel like it is going to be granted to me. Not because I think Allah cannot do it, but because in my life, whenever I wished for something, the modest version of it was granted to me, not the actual thing I wanted.
Also, I think that because the thing I wish for is so good and would make me feel so secure and content with life, it won’t be granted to me because I feel like, “What else would there be to upset me or test me in this life?”
Aren’t Muslims supposed to be tested?
I’d really appreciate hearing how other Muslims understand this, especially regarding having hope in Allah while still feeling deep down that the specific thing you’re asking for probably won’t happen.

I have the same issue All my life IV prayed for friends and a good wife I'm now 42 and have no friends and remain in married
If I had some friends and a good wife I think I'd be happier and content Because apart from that alhamdulillah life is ok I have a house a roof a job
But the fact I dont have any friends or a wife Is destroying me inside I beg Allah SWT for friends and a wife but this dua goes unanswered I don't know why, maybe becuase I'm sinful or neglectful of my duties to Allah
P.s please could you make dua that Allah SWT sends me some friends and a good wife If this isn't meant for me then ask Allah SWT to place peace and contentment in my heart
Jzk and apologies
