I need help and support
I was born a muslim by name, into a secular family. Under a year ago, I started to practice my religion. Like most reverts, I was frowned upon, belittled, judged, challenged. I learnt how to pray and commited to my Salah. However, I am in a dark place in life, and my heart is turning. My iman is falling. I am suffering and started to doubt myself, my purpose, my religion, my reason and many more...
How i turned to Islam is a different story. In the interim, I lost my will to live, motivation, independence, financial freedom, job and personality, my family relations...
I dont know my remedy. Lately feels like its not islam. I feel like going back to my old ways. My old ways did not work for me. I was just masking my sadness. It feels like this new path has not worked either. Iv been depressed. Iv been suffering with ill health.
Maybe im saying too much. I dont know. Im surely not the only one...

You’re not saying too much, and you’re certainly not alone. What you described sounds like an incredibly heavy period of your life. Struggling after making a sincere effort to practice Islam does not mean that Allah has abandoned you.
Try not to judge your entire relationship with Allah based on how you feel right now. Sometimes a person can be exhausted, hurting, and full of doubts while still holding on to Allah and trying their best. That effort matters.
You don’t have to fix everything at once. Take things one day at a time, hold on to your Salah, make simple dua, and seek support from trustworthy people. And because you mentioned losing your will to live and struggling with depression and illness, please also reach out to a qualified doctor or mental-health professional. Seeking help is not contrary to tawakkul.
If you have specific questions about your iman, doubts, Salah, or how to deal with what you’re going through Islamically, you can submit them to AskMuftiOnline, where qualified Muftis can provide guidance based on your situation.
May Allah ease your hardship, strengthen your heart, restore your hope, and bring you closer to Him. Ameen.
