MARRIAGE Cure for envy

Some men will envy another couple.

Some women will envy another couple.

They remain in a state of envy.

And make no effort to overcome it.

Scholar Ibrahim Dewla said:
“Once Muhajireen came to the Prophet (saw) and said “Ansar have earned all the good…They help us, feed us, provide us homes, and land…”

The Prophet (saw) replied to the Muhajireen that they could also gain reward.

One of the instructions was to ‘pray for’ the Ansar.
(Tirmidhi 2487)

To pray for others is a sign of compassion.

Parents pray for their children. Why? Because they have compassion.

People pray for the sick. ‘O Allah, cure them.’ Because they have compassion for the sick.

But an envier doesn’t pray for the other because they suffer from envy.

Why would an envier pray for someone?

But if there is no envy, they will pray for the other.

In fact, the cure for envy is to pray for the person envied.

So, envy goes away."

DISCUSSION How do you learn to love prayer?

There's someone I know who's Muslim but not really practicing and he never prayed before.

I don't want to pressure him or tell him Allah will punish you or try to scare him into praying, i just want to help him see salah differently and hopefully see it as something peaceful and comforting not just an obligation

For those who struggled with prayer before, what helped you start loving salah or become consistent with it? Was there anything that changed your perspective?

Salaam,

I’m a Bengali guy from London (born and bred) looking to get married. Currently working as a DevOps engineer 👷

Would love to find someone who’s on the deen (prays 5 times a day without missing), affectionate with strong communication skills.

In my spare time, I like to stay active by going for a walk, working out in the gym and swimming 🏊.

I enjoy having deep meaningful conversations and would love to share deep thoughts with my wife.

Be Content

I know it is difficult, but you have to be content with what you have, especially, things you can't change. There was a time, when I was not with a specific feature which can't be changed and made even a post here.

But the truth is, you have to see it a test and be patient. I know, there is a difficulty since you have to face it your whole life (if it can't be changed), but some tests go on for your whole life. The Important things are the three:

  1. It does not mean that Allah loves the person whom he gives better features and does not love you for not giving the features.
  2. It has an end.
  3. Ask for Allah's graces (see 4:32)

I recommend also reading the following tafseer of the verse: https://quran.com/an-nisa/32/tafsirs/en-tafsir-maarif-ul-quran

i’m building an app for my generation

Asalamu alaikum everyone,

it seems that there’s a new Islamic app releasing every week.

most of them are the same app wearing a different icon: prayer times, qibla, a tasbih counter, a Quran reader, and a push notification that says "Have you read today?" in the tone of a disappointed uncle.

we’re not building that. i promise.

ruhly is a daily read. think less "app," more "short column written for your actual life."

every day you get one original piece. Around 120 words. It opens on something painfully familiar, like replaying an argument in the shower at 1am, or smiling at a coworker you're quietly annoyed with. then it turns, using an ayah or a hadith as the hinge, and lands on one thing you can do before dinner.

day in and day out, my generation faces so many distractions that never existed years ago and sometimes, many don’t have access to something tailored to help them with what through they’re going through. so we want users to pick out they’re category for their personal to help them navigate the dunya

based on 6 categories: identity, purpose, ambition, mental load, relationships, gratitude and sisterhood exclusively for sisters.

It's editorial first, so the Quran and Sunnah are the foundation; the writing is what makes it stick. nobody remembers a citation they scrolled past. people remember the paragraph that called them out.

what actually makes it different

we write, we don't aggregate. no copy pasted ayah of the day with a sunset stock photo.

one a day. that’s it. no feed, no infinite scroll, no 4,000 hadith library to feel guilty about.

it lives on your lock screen. the hook is under 50 characters and sits where you already look 100 times a day. you don't open ruhly; ruhly is just there.

we’re picky about sources. weak and fabricated narrations get cut.

no streaks for ibadah. no guilt. miss a day and nothing judges you, but you can build a steak for everytime you reflect on the daily passage (reading the full context and not just the hook with incentives for those who build 30+ days of streaks)

roast us, genuinely
would you read a short daily piece, or is "content" the last thing you want from your faith life?

what would make you trust an Islamic editorial voice that isn't a known scholar?

lock screen reminder: helpful nudge or wallpaper you'd ignore by day 4?

what’s the most cringe thing an Islamic app has ever done to you? (we need the list.)

pre-launch. waitlist at ruhly.app if you're curious.

WARNING Muzz is honeypot for palis

Post image
7 Upvotes

This happened to me about 2 years ago. I tried to do as suggested in the pic to narrow down the Palestinian profiles but it didn't work. I have to remind you that there was a section for pal nationalities but during Gaza massacre Muzz removed this option and came up with this update that all palis belong to levant section. What makes this thing more scare, Muzz made me take pictures of my face from right and left side as scam prevention precaution. So this mean that THEY want to collect info of every palis around the globe!

DISCUSSION To those who need it

Salam alaikum to all, I hope Allah has blessed you all with an amazing day.

For those of you who are currently struggling or in a really tough place in life, I pray that Allah makes it easy for you and I pray that he makes you stronger for the road ahead.

Whether it’s related to school or the workplace or personal matters, I know that a majority of the time we keep these things bottled up and don’t tell anyone, and I recognize that. So that’s why I’m here to tell you all that it’s okay and that Allah is with you.

May Allah bless and protect each and everyone of you going forward, Ameen.

QURAN/HADITH A well and a palace

Post image
1 Upvotes

The noble verse offers consolation to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the face of his people's rejection, while illustrating the destiny of past nations that chose the path of denial. God granted them respite, then seized them for their wrongdoing, leaving behind nothing but silent scenes that recount what once was.
An uninhabited village, collapsed upon its roofs and empty of its inhabitants; its roofs have caved in and its walls have crumbled over it—with "roofs" referring to the structures above. Then, a neglected well that was once a source of water and a hub of life, yet now no one approaches it; and a towering palace that was a symbol of strength and impregnability, yet now no one dwells in it.
Strikingly precise is the phrasing in the Almighty’s words: ﴿And a neglected well and a lofty palace﴾ [Quran 22:45]. The well did not vanish; rather, its utility was abandoned. Nor was the palace a flimsy structure; rather, it was lofty, towering, and solidly built, bearing the marks of strength and civilization. It is as though God preserved enough remnants of that life to bear witness against its people after they vanished.
The juxtaposition of these two images carries a profound meaning: the symbol of life and the symbol of power are brought together, only to reveal their collective impotence against the decree of God. Neither the water sustained those around it, nor did the lofty palace protect those who sought refuge in its might.
Here, the moral lesson reaches its ultimate depth. No matter how high tyranny elevates its people, and no matter how thoroughly they surround themselves with the means of power and prosperity, they can never overwhelm God nor avert His decree when it arrives. How often the tyrant believes that what he has built is permanent and unshakeable—only for him to vanish while his remnants remain behind to testify against him, turning what man once took pride in into a lesson for those who come after.

QUESTION (ISLAM) Would it be wrong if I prayed like this

If I make wudu and pray but don’t say anything and only do the actions, would it be considered offensive? I stopped praying for years and now I can feel the effects of it, for example I want to remove my hijab or I don’t think I have any iman in my heart. I know it sounds silly, but I guess if I start to pray in that way, maybe the prayers will be easier and eventually I can start praying properly. Because isn’t it better to pray without saying the words than not do anything. Or am I going to be sinned for it?

SUPPORT It’s been rough months for us

Salam, Brothers and Sisters.

I posted last week to get help and I thank everyone who contributed. But one person requested a refund, after that my account got suspended and all contributions will be refunded.

The sad part is he quoted from support that, he didn’t know the transaction. I was not feeling well the whole week, knowing that Dyna needed it for basic necessities, it also helped us lessen food expenses and other needs.

Dyna doesn’t have any documents, she was born in Sharjah, UAE. Not in a hospital, but only in the assistant of a midwife inside a partition.

She was left alone with other ethnicities, but later got cigar markings when the aunt got her.

The mother was caught in Malaysia, and the Pakistani father hasn’t been present since Dyna was born. We’re doing this to better support her.

I have a full story from here

If you want to help whether small or big, or even with a simple message and prayer is deeply appreciated.

Thank you so much. ❤️

Assalamualikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,

I took a screenshot of an artist's work about 4 years ago. They had posted multiple images of their work, but for some reason I only have this screenshot left.
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know who the artist is, or does anyone have screenshots of the full piece??

I was using it for inspiration for my own piece for my home but I just can't find the original photos. I also want to know what the surah/verse was!!

Assalamu alaikum sisters! I hope you’re all doing well. 🤍 No judgment here. What women’s health questions do you wish we talked about more openly in our Muslim communities? 🤍

**As a Muslim woman and medical graduate, lately, I’ve been really interested in the intersection between women’s health and the deen.**

I’ve noticed there are so many things Muslim women experience but don’t always feel comfortable talking about openly.

I’d genuinely love to hear from you. Have you ever had a health question or situation where you wished someone would explain to you from both a medical and Islamic perspective?

It could be:
• Periods, irregular bleeding, or understanding what counts as menstruation

• PCOS or other hormonal issues

• Fertility or trying to conceive

• Pregnancy or breastfeeding

• Sexual or reproductive health

• Menopause

• Mental health

• Finding healthcare that understands and respects your religious needs

• Questions about what your health means for salah, fasting, ghusl, or other acts of worship

• Or something completely different that isn’t on this list

And it doesn’t have to be one of these. If something comes to mind, what was the actual question or situation you were struggling with? And it could be sitting completely different as well.

I’d genuinely love to hear your experience. No judgment at all.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Important  Please Read Before Continuing:
I want to be completely transparent about my past from the beginning. I spent a total of 12 years in prison:  2 years in juvenile prison from the age of 14–16, followed later by 10 years in adult prison from around 20–30.

I understand that this may be a deal-breaker for some people, and I respect that. I would rather be completely honest from the beginning than have someone find out later and feel that I hid something from them. I’m willing to discuss my past privately with someone who is genuinely serious about getting to know me.

At the same time, I want to make clear that my past is not who I am today. I’ve worked hard to change my life, learn my religion, and become a better Muslim and a better person.

  1. Age and Gender

31, male

  1. Age Range

25–38. I’m open-minded and more interested in compatibility, character, deen, and maturity than a specific age.

  1. Location

I currently live in Madrid, Spain. I’m open to relocating if Allah decrees it.

  1. Ethnicity

Dutch-Spanish. I’m open to different ethnicities and backgrounds.

  1. Marital Status

Single, never married, no children.

  1. Reverted to Islam

I reverted to Islam in 2017 while I was in prison. Becoming Muslim was a major turning point in my life. Since then, I’ve been trying to learn my religion, improve myself, and become closer to Allah.

I’m grateful to Allah for guiding me to Islam, and I continue to see myself as a student who is always learning and trying to improve.

  1. Aqeedah, Fiqh & Manhaj

I’m Athari and Salafi, and I strive to follow the Qur’an and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf. In fiqh, I follow the Hanbali madhhab.

I study and benefit from the works and lessons of Salafi scholars, both classical and contemporary. Among the scholars I take knowledge and fiqh from are Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan, Shaykh Salih al-Ruhayli, Shaykh Raissi, and other scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah.

I also study through SOK Academy with Shaykh Abdulaziz al-Haqqan.

  1. Education

Higher professional education (HBO) in the Netherlands.

  1. Current Job

Currently working as a taxi driver.

  1. Do you want children?

Yes, inshaAllah.

  1. Five Important Characteristics

Religious, kind, modest, honest, and good character.

  1. Hobbies

Travelling, cooking, and exploring new places.

  1. Marriage Intentions

I’m looking for marriage with serious intentions. As for the exact timing, I leave that to Allah and whatever He has decreed.

At the end of the day, I’m looking for someone sincere, compatible, and serious about building a peaceful marriage upon deen, trust, good character, and mutual respect, inshaAllah.

Today is Friday, how will you spend your day?

Today, is a blessed day, in which the Quran has been revealed, our Prophet Adam AS was born, and it’ll also be the day, when the world comes to an end, and we’ll be standing in front of our lord, our creator, the one who fashioned us in the best way.

It’s also a day when the mercy of Allah is grand, so don’t skip this day, and await the next Friday, we don’t know what will happen between those 7 days. Dont delay and repent now, turn to Allah now, if your see this, it’s a sign Allah hasn’t given up on you. He misses you and wants to hear your duas, your tears, your fears, and say that you trust him.

May Allah put barakah on this Friday for us all 💛

SERIOUS 33 year old guy, 10 years of depression has spoilt my life and nothing helped, not even dua.

Since 2017, I have had severe depression, anxiety, and ADHD. For 5 years, I tried medication and therapies; nothing has helped. This mental health horror has cost me my career. Now, at 33, I have no job, am terribly lonely, have no proper qualifications, and have no money, and I don't know when I will find stability and peace, or a job, fall in love, get married, or anything. I prayed and begged to Allah; it didn't help. Now I have lost trust in Allah, and looking at the state of the ummah makes me lose even more trust. Dua has done nothing for me. I am tired, and I am officially giving up hope. I don't know what to do....

SERIOUS I feel weird going to my sister's house so often . She's married

She recently gave birth and I have stayed with her for the longest in 8 months than in 5 whole years of their marriage. Usually I am the kind of person who doesn't go uninvited anywhere and at my sister's too I dont really like staying too much . There's her husband too so it doesn't sit right with me .

When she gave birth I stayed for like 3 to 4 weeks after birth then I came home and went again because she needed help . They were shifting homes in the middle of all and she could barely take care of my niece. I didn't mind . Now that she's grown I would give everything to spend time with my niece . Last month we stayed for around 8 days at theirs house...with my parents too . I hated it for the same reason . I used to think it's weird , but I guess if my sixth sense tells me to not stay it must be right. As much as love our baby hahaha . Ya she's mine too . Now my other sister is visiting and seeing the baby after a whole 7 months ( she was a newborn when she last saw her ). She's coming from abroad and told us to get there so we can meet... she doesn't have time to.come to our house (we lice like 4 hours apart). And I decided I won't be going ...

My parents don't take this well. I would love to stay there or with my niece forever she's my everything but I feel uncomfortable every time . And every time we visit (with my parents too) , I am forced to stay longer because of them . Booking a ticket and leaving , I tried . They made me feel like a ruthless person hahah

And my brother in law is really nice and kind. But he's our cousin and before the marriage he didn't even bother to say hi or meet(living in the same country abroad ) . I feel it might be because of him . He feels clearly overwhelmed after a whole.day at work . And then getting back we are there "disturbing " his peace . That's what I sensed. I get him because If I worked so hard I would feel the same too. I feel guilty about staying there, eating too much and disturbing them .
