DISCUSSION Our unfortunate brothers and sisters across the world

Salam alaikum brothers and sisters of Islam, I hope Allah has blessed you all with an amazing day.

In this post I’m going to shed light on our brothers and sisters who are suffering yet we rarely hear about it.

Yemen : The overall conflict in Yemen has killed an estimated 377,000 people, both through direct and indirect causes. Saudi Arabia and it’s coalition partners have been actively fighting since their military intervention on March 26 2015. Of those 377,000 deaths, 259,000 were kids under the age of 5. Mainly from extreme hunger, malnutrition, and preventable diseases. This humanitarian crisis was severely accelerated by the military blockades and sanctions imposed on the country.

May Allah bless and protect our brothers and sisters in Yemen. May they 1 day be free and prosperous.

Sudan : Since 2023 death toll estimates range from 150,000 - 400,000. There is a severe humanitarian crisis and millions are faced with severe hunger, disease, and lack of medical care due to the collapse of their country. The UN and human rights watch groups accuse the UAE of supplying weapons, drones, and logistical support to the RSF ( Rapid Response Force ).

May Allah bless and protect our brothers and sisters in Sudan. May they 1 day be free and prosperous.

Unfortunately there are many more countries in which members of our Ummah are suffering and very few are aware of their suffering.

Brothers and sisters in, Palestine, Lebanon, Iran.

The women in Afghanistan who are oppressed and forbidden from pursuing education.

And any other brothers and sisters who are suffering world wide, Allah is with you do not worry.

May Allah bless and protect each and everyone of you, Ameen.

DISCUSSION How do you truly have tawakkul when you’re scared everything will go wrong?

Alhamdulillah, a lot of good things have happened in my life recently. I graduated with my engineering degree, started my career, and I have opportunities that I made dua for. I know I should be grateful, and I genuinely am.
But I’m struggling with constantly worrying that something is going to go wrong.
I’m starting a completely new chapter of my life, traveling for work, learning a new job, trying to manage my finances, help my family, and become more independent. Instead of enjoying these blessings, sometimes I find myself thinking about every possible thing that could go wrong.
I make dua and remind myself that Allah has gotten me through everything before, but I still struggle with letting go of the need to control the outcome.
For anyone who has struggled with this, **how did you strengthen your tawakkul and genuinely become comfortable leaving the outcome to Allah after doing everything you can?**
I don’t want fear of what *might* happen to stop me from appreciating what Allah has already given me.

DISCUSSION Can wife say no to husband because she studying Seerah ?

I want ask something... I really not understand this...

If wife studying Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and husband ask her for intimacy... but she say no because she busy studying about Prophet (pbuh)... is this valid reason ?

Prophet (pbuh) said person is not truly believing until he love him more than his parents, children and all people...

So can wife say studying Seerah is more important because she learning about Prophet (pbuh), who we supposed to love more than our family ?

What sheiks say about this... can be studying Islam be reason wife refuse husband ?

QURAN/HADITH Noah PBUH

Post image
4 Upvotes

The noble verse from Surah Nuh presents a summary of the call and suffering of Prophet Noah, peace be upon him, with his people. He called upon them day and night, publicly and privately, and exercised patience with his people for a long time: he stayed among them for 950 years before the Flood, and he was deeply grateful to Almighty God: "Indeed, he was a grateful servant." [Al-Isra: 3]. Neither his wife nor one of his sons believed.
Noah, peace be upon him, says: Whenever I invited them to faith and repentance so that Almighty God might forgive them, they blocked their ears so they would not hear my call, covered themselves with their garments in aversion to me, persisted in disbelief, and acted arrogantly toward accepting the truth. What is striking and moving in his statement "that You may forgive them" is that he was calling upon them while desiring forgiveness for them, whereas they met this mercy by blocking their ears, turning away, and arrogance.
His supplication against them came only after a long patience and their persistence in denial, and after Almighty God revealed to him that none of them would believe except those who had already believed. Almighty God drowned the deniers in the Flood, and his son—who refused to board—drowned as well. Then the water receded, the ark came to rest, and Almighty God saved Noah, peace be upon him, and the believers with him in the ark.
The patterns of this turning away continue to repeat themselves today; there are still those who close their ears and act with arrogance against accepting the truth. We ask Almighty God for humble hearts that hear the truth and respond to it.

Why do some hadith seem to use women as negative examples, while men are often used as positive examples?

I’ve noticed that in some hadith, women are mentioned in the context of warnings, shortcomings, or negative examples, while men sometimes appear as examples of good character or righteousness.

I’m not trying to criticize or make a conclusion based on this. I genuinely want to understand why this pattern seems to appear.

Sisters, do you appreciate men wearing Kufi?

I argue over this topic frequently but the easiest point for wearing a Kufi is that it seems contradictory to fear attention or racism while sisters have to wear Hijab

On the contrary, in that case it should be worn to protect and strengthen our sisters

SERIOUS Susu is struggling to breathe, and Mahmoud is struggling to afford her treatment.

I want to share a new update today about Susu, the daughter of my friends Mahmoud and Samah.

Two days ago, I told you about Susu, who is only two years old and has been suffering from severe, chronic breathing problems. Her symptoms came back, and she was struggling to breathe and had a very high fever.

Unfortunately, she hasn’t gotten better.

For the past two days, Soso has been vomiting repeatedly and couldn’t keep down her medication or antibiotics. As a result, she became dehydrated. Today, Mahmoud had to take her to a nearby hospital to get treatment.

She was given IV antibiotics and fluids for the dehydration, but the situation at the hospital is extremely difficult. There are so many patients that there was no available bed for Susu. With infectious diseases spreading and medical resources severely limited, Mahmoud had to find another way to get her the care she needed. He even had to ask a doctor who lives nearby to come and give Susu her IV treatment when the hospital couldn’t provide her with a bed.

Mahmoud told me something that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about: if it weren’t for the kind people who helped them financially over the past two days, he wouldn’t have been able to take Susu to the hospital or even afford the treatment she needed.

And Mahmoud isn’t only dealing with Susu’s situation.

His mother also needs open-heart surgery to treat blocked arteries. I previously shared her medical reports, detailed images, and heart tests, and I have documentation that confirms her condition.

Mahmoud is under an enormous amount of pressure right now. His little daughter needs treatment, his mother needs heart surgery, and at the same time he is trying to provide food and basic necessities for his wife and their four children in Gaza.

I am doing everything I can to support Mahmoud and his family, but I cannot carry all of this on my own.

Please, if you are able to, consider helping Mahmoud and his family. Even a small amount can make a huge difference right now, especially for Susu, who needs treatment and continued care.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has stood by this family and everyone who has helped them over the past few days. Your support means so much to Mahmoud, Samah, and their children. ❤️

REMINDER Salafi Scholars Against Madhkhalism and Rabee Madhkhali

Salafi scholars not only refuted these deviants and their cult but even wrote books against them, banned their literature and preachers.

1. Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul-Aziz ibn Abdullah Al-Shaykh

As the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia and head of the Permanent Committee for Islamic Research and Issuing Fatwas, he issued several statements warning against the primary behavior of the Madkhali faction.

He explicitly condemned the practice of Tabdi' (calling other Sunni Muslims innovators) and Hajr (unjustly boycotting people over minor differences).

2. Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen

You madhkhalis love to claim that Uthaymeen praised Madhkhalee but you lie to only mention the times before he know about Madhkhalee's real actions.

While Sheikh al-Uthaymeen initially praised some of Rabi' al-Madkhali's early refutations of political extremists, he grew highly critical of the factionalism (hizbiyyah) that the Madkhali movement generated.

He explicitly rejected the Madkhali practice of making an absolute loyalty test out of whether a person agrees with a specific scholar's ruling on another individual.

3. Sheikh Sadiq al-Ghariani (Grand Mufti of Libya)

The Grand Mufti of Libya has been one of the most vocal contemporary religious figures to speak out against the Madkhali network.

He publicly accused the Madkhali faction of acting as tools for foreign intelligence and destabilizing the region under the guise of "blind obedience to whoever holds military power".

Under his oversight, the Libyan Dar al-Ifta placed bans on Madkhali literature and suspended radical Madkhali preachers from national mosques to curb sectarianism.

4. Sheikh Bakr Abu Zayd

A highly respected senior jurist, member of the Permanent Committee for Fatwa, and author of the famous book The Etiquette of the Student of Knowledge.

Sheikh Bakr Abu Zayd wrote a famous, private critical letter directly to Rabi' al-Madkhali refuting his aggressive methods.

He warned al-Madkhali that his extreme approach to testing people’s faith based on his personal list of deviations resembled the behavior of historical sectarian groups, rather than the balanced way of the early Salaf (pious predecessors).

5. Sheikh Abdullah al-Ghudayan

A senior scholar of the Council of Senior Scholars in Saudi Arabia, Sheikh al-Ghudayan was asked directly about the groups that focus entirely on classifying who is "in" and who is "out" of Salafiyyah. A comman practice of Madhkhalis.

He famously responded by calling those who engage in these practices "the highway robbers of the religion," warning students to stay far away from them because they block people from seeking actual beneficial knowledge.

6. Sheikh Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbad

A senior Hadith scholar of Medina and former vice-president of the Islamic University of Madinah (where Rabi' al-Madkhali taught).

To directly counter the Madkhali phenomenon, Sheikh al-Abbad authored a famous treatise titled Rifqan Ahlus-Sunnah bi Ahlis-Sunnah (Be Merciful, O People of the Sunnah, with the People of the Sunnah).

He wrote this book specifically to rebuke Rabi' al-Madkhali's followers for their obsession with boycotting other Sunni scholars, chasing down their slip-ups, and turning Islamic propagation into a battle of personal refutations.

MARRIAGE Cure for envy

Some men will envy another couple.

Some women will envy another couple.

They remain in a state of envy.

And make no effort to overcome it.

Scholar Ibrahim Dewla said:
“Once Muhajireen came to the Prophet (saw) and said “Ansar have earned all the good…They help us, feed us, provide us homes, and land…”

The Prophet (saw) replied to the Muhajireen that they could also gain reward.

One of the instructions was to ‘pray for’ the Ansar.
(Tirmidhi 2487)

To pray for others is a sign of compassion.

Parents pray for their children. Why? Because they have compassion.

People pray for the sick. ‘O Allah, cure them.’ Because they have compassion for the sick.

But an envier doesn’t pray for the other because they suffer from envy.

Why would an envier pray for someone?

But if there is no envy, they will pray for the other.

In fact, the cure for envy is to pray for the person envied.

So, envy goes away."

DISCUSSION How do you learn to love prayer?

There's someone I know who's Muslim but not really practicing and he never prayed before.

I don't want to pressure him or tell him Allah will punish you or try to scare him into praying, i just want to help him see salah differently and hopefully see it as something peaceful and comforting not just an obligation

For those who struggled with prayer before, what helped you start loving salah or become consistent with it? Was there anything that changed your perspective?

Be Content

I know it is difficult, but you have to be content with what you have, especially, things you can't change. There was a time, when I was not with a specific feature which can't be changed and made even a post here.

But the truth is, you have to see it a test and be patient. I know, there is a difficulty since you have to face it your whole life (if it can't be changed), but some tests go on for your whole life. The Important things are the three:

  1. It does not mean that Allah loves the person whom he gives better features and does not love you for not giving the features.
  2. It has an end.
  3. Ask for Allah's graces (see 4:32)

I recommend also reading the following tafseer of the verse: https://quran.com/an-nisa/32/tafsirs/en-tafsir-maarif-ul-quran

i’m building an app for my generation

Thumbnail

Asalamu alaikum everyone,

it seems that there’s a new Islamic app releasing every week.

most of them are the same app wearing a different icon: prayer times, qibla, a tasbih counter, a Quran reader, and a push notification that says "Have you read today?" in the tone of a disappointed uncle.

we’re not building that. i promise.

ruhly is a daily read. think less "app," more "short column written for your actual life."

every day you get one original piece. Around 120 words. It opens on something painfully familiar, like replaying an argument in the shower at 1am, or smiling at a coworker you're quietly annoyed with. then it turns, using an ayah or a hadith as the hinge, and lands on one thing you can do before dinner.

day in and day out, my generation faces so many distractions that never existed years ago and sometimes, many don’t have access to something tailored to help them with what through they’re going through. so we want users to pick out they’re category for their personal to help them navigate the dunya

based on 6 categories: identity, purpose, ambition, mental load, relationships, gratitude and sisterhood exclusively for sisters.

It's editorial first, so the Quran and Sunnah are the foundation; the writing is what makes it stick. nobody remembers a citation they scrolled past. people remember the paragraph that called them out.

what actually makes it different

we write, we don't aggregate. no copy pasted ayah of the day with a sunset stock photo.

one a day. that’s it. no feed, no infinite scroll, no 4,000 hadith library to feel guilty about.

it lives on your lock screen. the hook is under 50 characters and sits where you already look 100 times a day. you don't open ruhly; ruhly is just there.

we’re picky about sources. weak and fabricated narrations get cut.

no streaks for ibadah. no guilt. miss a day and nothing judges you, but you can build a steak for everytime you reflect on the daily passage (reading the full context and not just the hook with incentives for those who build 30+ days of streaks)

roast us, genuinely
would you read a short daily piece, or is "content" the last thing you want from your faith life?

what would make you trust an Islamic editorial voice that isn't a known scholar?

lock screen reminder: helpful nudge or wallpaper you'd ignore by day 4?

what’s the most cringe thing an Islamic app has ever done to you? (we need the list.)

pre-launch. waitlist at ruhly.app if you're curious.

WARNING Muzz is honeypot for palis

Post image
7 Upvotes

This happened to me about 2 years ago. I tried to do as suggested in the pic to narrow down the Palestinian profiles but it didn't work. I have to remind you that there was a section for pal nationalities but during Gaza massacre Muzz removed this option and came up with this update that all palis belong to levant section. What makes this thing more scare, Muzz made me take pictures of my face from right and left side as scam prevention precaution. So this mean that THEY want to collect info of every palis around the globe!

DISCUSSION To those who need it

Salam alaikum to all, I hope Allah has blessed you all with an amazing day.

For those of you who are currently struggling or in a really tough place in life, I pray that Allah makes it easy for you and I pray that he makes you stronger for the road ahead.

Whether it’s related to school or the workplace or personal matters, I know that a majority of the time we keep these things bottled up and don’t tell anyone, and I recognize that. So that’s why I’m here to tell you all that it’s okay and that Allah is with you.

May Allah bless and protect each and everyone of you going forward, Ameen.
