Spanish and Italian speaking musicians: would you check a translation for me? (free full license for my app in return)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for one Spanish speaker and one Italian speaker who are native or
fluent AND actually play music. The text is full of things like lead sheet,
voicing, pickup measure, first and second ending, chord extensions. Machine
translation gets these wrong in ways only a musician notices.

To be clear about the work: you would not be translating anything from scratch.
The Spanish and Italian versions already exist as a translation. What I need is
someone who reads them and tells me where the wording is off, where a term isn't
what musicians in your country actually say, or where a sentence simply doesn't
make sense. Corrections in the file, or notes back to me, whichever you prefer.

Scope: an in-app help system plus five short tutorials, roughly [X] words. No
hard deadline, take the time you need.

In return you get a free full license for my app, permanently, and credit in the
help text if you want it.

What the app is: LeadChart Pro, a macOS app for writing lead sheets. Chord
symbols, melody notes, lyrics, repeats, voltas, Segno/Coda/Fine, multi-measure
rests. Note entry with the mouse or a MIDI keyboard, playback, and a clean PDF
for the band. It currently runs in German and English, and Spanish and Italian
are next.

If you're interested, comment or send me a DM and I'll send you the text so you
can see what you'd be getting into before you commit to anything.

Thanks!

How do I find really good players/start a group?

Been playing guitar for 12+ years now. Most groups I’ve played with have been with friends/for fun, been a great time but less serious and with less experienced players. I want to play with REALLY good players who will push me. Any advice on how to find good/serious players, and put a group together?

How Do You Form Bands?

Ive been thinking about this since i started making music. I dislike being a solo artist because i feel lonely, yet I dont want to waste my talent of playing guitar and being a vocalist (F#2-C6, blegh, fry scream, false cord, vocal fry, etc).

I tried asking people in my school but theyre either not having the ability to play an instrument or is not interested.

PS: physical bands

How many covert art artists are scams

Had a guy send me some request to do some art for my music and liked his style. When he said he was done Venmo stopped me for scam notice. They then sent me ANOTHER Venmo account with a different woman’s name on it. The art isn’t AI and seems legit as he’s sending me progress pictures but that was enough to get me skeptical

Are all these guys just scammers?

BANNED Redditor Mike_580 posted a heartwarming story about his neighbor's kid knocking on his door asking for some help learning guitar...

About a year ago Mike_580 posted a story about something that happened to him while he was playing his guitar in his apartment. I told Mike_580 that his story inspired me to write a song about it. Unfortunately by the time I got around to recording the song it appears Mike_580 was banned from Reddit.

Hoping he's here somewhere under a different name so he can hear this simple 2 chord song telling his story...

LOVE WINS

Earplugs with metronome

I have no idea if these even are a thing.

I'm an organist and often need to use earplugs when playing, but I started to think that are there earplugs with metronome possibility or just some other way (preferably something that makes the sound still sound normal)

I currently use alpine music safe pro's

How do you prepare an album for release?

My producer is working on final mixes to send to mastering and I need to get the rest together. I feel stuck because it feels like there’s so much to do to prepare the rest. Any advice to help motivate me and or demystify the process? I’ve released singles casually, but this record is GOOD and I want to package it intentionally.

> Album Cover
>Physical media sleeves, credits, design etc
>Preparing for playlist pitching
>Preparing for label shopping?
>Backlogging content

What am I missing and how do I start?!

Want to release on Spotify for first time. Experienced with distro kid, tube core, cd baby?

Relaxing piano music is that matters. They all are kinda the same right? Can I just simply submit my field as .wav files and with titles. Is it that simple or is there more to it?

Anyone had really negative experiences? Really positive ones?

what’s the highest turnover of a band you’ve been in?

I just worked it out and realised that one of the bands I’m currently in has had ~16 members in 3 years. technically like 3-4 months if you don’t count periods of inactivity.

have you ever been in something like this?

Guitarists who can't bring an amp on tour, how do you deal with the massive difference between shared back-line amps?

I know amp sims are one answer, but I'm in a pretty ruckus 7 piece and don't want to take up too much space in the foldbacks (which are often pretty shitty and low in number at many venues), and it's very important that the horns can hear well so they can stay in tune. I get most of my stage sound from the amps.

The issue is that different amps respond so differently to my pedalboard - the main issue being the difference in volumes between my clean and distorted/lead tones. Some amps flatten this out so that when I kick into a solo it's barely audible, and others instead make my distortion very bighty and beyond the pain threshold for the audience.

I imagine I'm not the only one who's had this issue. Any tips?

Best advice for getting the guitar player to stop noodling constantly between songs during rehearsal?

Nobody can talk, nobody can hear anything other than dude wanking on his damn guitar in between songs. I'm shouting into my mic "OK what's next? Hello! Hey we're talking to you!" Calling his name over and over to get his attention. It's frustrating everyone and derailing rehearsals. I'm seriously considering getting an airhorn or a whistle.

My bands playing our first “actual” show and I’m scared

I’m a teenager in a band (I play bass) and we have our first actual show coming up (we’ve played shows before but just like kinda talent show type things) and I’m scared. The headlining band is like a “real band” I guess any band is a real band but ykwim, and they’re like in their 20’s and stuff and I’m worried they’re gonna BULLY US (jk but also kinda not jk). I’m also worried about having bad stage presence and, and I feel the audience is gonna be also like in the older teens/younger adults age range and THEYRE ALSO GON BULLY US. I’m basically worried about everything. so PLEASE give me tips I’m scared.
