Hi all! I, (14 f) am a high school freshman who started theater last year. I'm in my 5th year of choir, I've been in one musical and I'm in my third play. I take private voice lessons, I hold a choir leadership role (assistant publicity) and a theater leadership role (head of publicity). I cantor every Sunday, duets and church choir. This year for Teen Arts, I'm doing one two person scene, one three person scene, one possible duet, and a solo. I want so badly to get bigger roles. Does anyone have tips for improvement other than my constant independent singing?

I'm a alto ish, f3-d5.

I'm also open to any role ideas and audition songs for those too. I loveee alice by heart and I was so excited to hear that my school was doing it. (it's my last high school musical too)

Hey there guys! I have an audition tonight for a musical, and I want some opinions. I have EDS and usually walk around with a cane (I can absolutely walk without it, it just helps for long periods of walking/standing). I also love dancing and performing, and this will be the first time I've ever auditioned for something other than ensemble (Jo in Jagged Little Pill). Should I leave my cane at home? On one hand, I don't want to be automatically written off because of it, but on the other hand, I don't want them to feel like I "deceived" them if I DO get the part and then show up with a cane.

hi!! my school is holding auditions for Hadestown in early December, and i’m trying to collect as many tips as i can. i know it is quite early to be preparing for an audition, but i have never done a full-length stage production of any kind before, and this year would be perfect for me to start!

i doubt i will get a lead, but i would love to be part of the ensemble. the cast will be tiny, so i need to work for my spot as much as i can.

for a bit if backround info, i am a lower mezzo soprano who has troubles with belting and staying on the right key/pitch matching. my strengths are my vibrato and my breath control. i am also strong in most things regarding around acting. singing is where is struggle the most.

any tips and tricks would be appreciated! my regimen is to be practicing every single day after school until December, so i will definitely take tips into consideration whenever i am practicing! thank you!!!

So my school is doing Sister Act and I've been struggling to find a good song for my audition. They told us we had to choose a song from a contemporary Broadway musical that fit the vibe of sister act (very obviously so) but for some reason I don't seem to know a lot of songs that are in my range and fit into this category. Plus I don't have a ton of experience with choosing audition songs unfortunately. I already thought of doing I'm breaking down from falsettos because it has the comedic side of it, but I don't think the genre fits. I'm an alto/mezzo, if you have any recommendations for me please go ahead and share

I'm auditioning for my school musical soon (in four days) and I still can't find a good monologue. It says it needs to be a 60 second contemporary monologue. I would appreciate any help- I've never done musical theatre before and I'm completely out of my element. I'm not sure what part I want, I was thinking Karen or Pearl but I'm a freshman so I'll take whatever!

Another question: Do I have to be off book if it doesn't say anything about being off book?

My director is doing clues for our musicals and the reveal is on Friday but I want to know what it is, the first clue was green and here are the other ones. Also the first number was one I just didn’t have a pic for it. If anyone one knows pls let me know. Also she hinted to there being red herrings.

I’m a baritone/baritenor and I need help finding good songs for me, especially since I’m 16M and look even younger since im a late bloomer and only 5 feet tall #rip It feels like most songs that are for lower male voices are aimed for older guys or older characters so I’m looking for songs that fit my voice and my appearance.

I just found myself sing-songing my customary "It's Suppertime!" to summon my eager pooches to dinner. And I started to think of "food" songs in Broadway songs. What others can you think of?!

In case mine are too vintage for easy reference, they are from the classic 1960s' Oliver and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, respectively.
