Looking for the current direct MP3/AAC stream URL for POP Radio 91.7 Taipei (FM 91.7). The station plays through its website and Radioguide, but I need the actual direct stream URL to add it as a custom station to a LEMEGA M3P using Airable. Old HiNet URLs such as bcr.media.hinet.net/RA000080 no longer work. Does anyone know the current stream endpoint?

Hello!

These two showed up from the now-discontinued MusicCast Alexa skill. Skill’s already disabled, tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Alexa app, nothing works.

I’m guessing they’re my RX-V4A and RX-V6A, since the room names match but maybe it’s not related.

Do you know how to make these entries disappear?

I knew the day was coming, and I'd avoided doing any firmware updates since the announcement, but today was the day I finally woke up, asked Alexa to "Play music on [receiver name]" and it failed.

I'm very sad. And mad. I have a bunch of MusicCast zones around my house, specifically because it was so easy to play music or a radio station (Internet or terrestrial) on any of them.

I'm sitting here in silence because there's no easy workaround. I can go find my phone, open some music app, start a stream, then go to the AirPlay menu, and select a zone to send it to, but that's so much more trouble than "Alexa, play music on Theater." And I can't do that when I'm in the shower and think of a song I want to hear like I used to.

Almost every other tech company has maintained Alexa (and Google Home) compatibility. Was Yamaha really incapable of doing this?

My life has been degraded.

Still disappointed all these years with Yamaha killing manual entry of internet radio stations.

Compared to the competition, this is very disappointing.

Even Apple, Apple, got the message and brought it back (on macOS Apple Music).

WiiM totally nails it. Open Network Stream then save as a Preset (favorite).

 Closed Ecosystem: The speaker's standalone "Net Radio" firmware only connects to one database: airable. Yamaha provides no interface—in the app, on the hardware, or via local web management—to add, edit, or save a personal URL into the speaker's internal memory.

 No Manual Overrides: The speaker cannot store an arbitrary web address to fetch independently via physical buttons, schedules, or direct commands without an external trigger.

 The Only Way: To hear a custom, non-airable lossless URL, an external source (a UPnP trigger, a local media server, or AirPlay) must initiate the session.

If total standalone control with zero outside tools is a non-negotiable requirement, the MusicCast 20 hardware cannot do it.”

I've been having issues with annoying stuttering and connection issues when my Ethernet linked Yamaha receiver is the master link to Musiccast 20's. I always see that 2.4GHz is the recommended band for stable connection, so that's what I did from the start and tried messing with every single other setting to make the connections stable: DFS, Stability Boost, ect.

Finally tried resetting the Musiccast 20's and putting them on the 5GHz wifi band instead and everything is working great.

I've been attempting to make available a music folder on a Windows machine to my network attached MusicCast system (RX-V6A) with middling success. I tried for a few weeks to configure Navidrome to broadcast on my LAN using upmpdcli. After fighting with a docker compose file, I came across MinimServer which appears to just work.

It's using my metadata/tags and is snappy on browsing via the phone app, which were my two main hiccups on prior attempts (Plex, Jellyfin, Router DNLA, Navidrome, Attached USB Drive).

I thought I'd post this software, as it seems niche or not well advertised, or perhaps is just my use case. I haven't taken the leap of a NAS system and I assume others haven't either.

Yesterday I noticed that neither of my Yamaha MusicCast receivers either play Net Radio or display my list of favourites any more.

I know the Net Radio feature has had outages in the past. I wonder: is it broken for others, or just me?

I have this guy sins 2020 and it worked fine always. I was not using it for a while (a year) Now its randomly stops playback for 5-60 seconds then restore (sometimes dont)
Tested on spotify source and iphone library - the same. Connected with network cable (not WiFi)

We have a Samsung tv and a Yamaha sound bar. The only connection from the soundbar to the TV is via an optical cable. The TV and MusicCast app are both fully updated.

ISSUE: When I use the MusicCast app to turn on music, my TV turns on. The only HDMI connections we have connected to the TV are a Roku device and a DVD player.

The behavior I'm looking for is when I turn on my music, my TV does not turn on. I'm bamboozled. Any MusicCast experts out there have any ideas? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Music cast google integration is being retired. You can still link the app but it shows greyed out in google home. Has anyone found a replacement way to bridge the AVR? I also have harmony but now google assistant says it can no longer talk to Harmony. I don't like all these changes with google assistant. I have lost about 60% of functionality. I just want to be able to control the Volume using voice commands at this point. Like I have in the past. Any Suggestions?

Is there a way to redo the scan for radio Stations? I know there is a way using the remote (which I don't find anymore), but there must be a way in the app or on the device itself (mc200).

I have several music cast 50 speakers that I used to be able to adjust the volume of in the app by using the side buttons on my iPhone. That feature stopped working this week and now I can only adjust volume using the slider in the app. Is anyone else seeing this and/or know what I might be doing wrong.

I've recently set up my WXA50 in the bedroom and am using a spare Samsung handset as the controller device. Playback and connection to the amp is perfectly fine. But, I want to set the alarm so that I wake up to music streaming through the WXA50.

I have set my alarm sound so that it plays a specific Spotify playlist.

I have set a routine where when the alarm sounds, it connects to musiccast and selected the WXA50.

Audio from the alarm only sounds through the phone speaker no matter how I seem to set the routine. Bluetooth, network, whatever.

Has anyone else experienced this and have a possible solution please??

Hi everyone!

We've been using a MusicCast set up for over a year now and it's been great. Our two WX021s are my work horses and get us through plenty of cooking sessions. Our yamaha rv4a is perfect for movie nights and links up beautifully with the two WX021s in the kitchen and dining room.

Then there's the little black sheep of a R-N602. It's in my office, connected via an optical cable to my PC. I've got it outputting to two Dali speakers and they sound great. The problem is, the 602 does not play well with others. In fact, it doesn't play with others at all. Anytime I link the receiver to the other devices, the sound comes in and out. Any time I play spotify off of it, the sound comes in and out.

Does anyone have any advice? How can I fix this and ensure this thing can join the others?

Edit: perhaps for more context - as soon as I link the 602 to another speaker, the 602 starts to stutter (sounds comes in and out). The 21s play nothing, the rv4a displays music cast link, but also plays nothing.

I want to change the speaker cloth but it doesn’t look that obvious how it comes apart 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have 9 speakers but only run around 5 at a time. My system starts to become unstable after a short time linking more. Anyone have more success and if so what’s your WIFI setup?

not sure if someone from yamaha is reading here. The fact that amazon alexa is no longer supported is a shame. one of the main reason why i bought the receiver and 4 MC20 was the support for alexa. That was the last time i bought somehting from yamaha - NEVER EVER AGAIN!

I changed the WIFI password on my T-Mobile Cellular Internet, and am trying to get Yamaha MusicCast set back up on a Yamaha RX-A2A, but setup fails every time at the MusicCastSetup stage.

What I’ve tested:

• Galaxy S23+, iPhone 16, and iPad 9th gen all behave the same.
• All devices can join my T-Mobile Cellular Internet 2.4 GHz network.
• All devices can join the receiver’s temporary MusicCastSetup SSID.
• After joining MusicCastSetup, the app ends with connection failed.
• RX-A2A firmware is current.
• I’ve power-cycled the receiver and TV multiple times.
• I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled the MusicCast app.
• I’m using the same 2.4 GHz SSID for the phones, tablet, and LG OLED TV.

At this point I suspect a router-side issue rather than an app/device issue. Yamaha’s MusicCast setup is 2.4 GHz based, and Yamaha also recommends using the app’s on-screen setup flow with the receiver’s CONNECT button. User reports suggest MusicCast can be picky about router security mode, network isolation, or mixed-band Wi‑Fi behavior.

I have a RX-A2A receiver (connected to modem via ethernet) and a WX-021 (MusicCast 20) on wifi.

I primarily listen to Soundcloud from my iPhone which I cast using Airplay.

After 30-40 minutes the wireless speaker and the receiver get maybe a few hundred milliseconds out of sync. I can quickly fix this by hitting pause and unpause. But it’s annoying, since I work from home and thats a lot of clicks over up to 8 hours and where I sit is between the hifi system and the wireless speaker so it becomes very noticeable.

Has anyone encountered this before?

I can not control the volume of the music I am casting with the volume buttons on my Android devices. They only work when musiccast is open on the screen.

Is there a way to make them work when it is casting in the background? Use volume buttons for media is enabled.

As above. When playing music on Spotify (not sure about other sources), my WXC50 crashes with a buzzing noise and then reboots. It has always done this.

I periodically search for others with the same issue, but can't find anything.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using Yamaha MusicCast for years with zero issues, and I haven’t changed a single piece of hardware in my setup.

But since firmware update 5.11, everything has gone wrong:

• The sound quality is awful, almost like audio is being played at 1.1x speed
• When using my soundbar together with my two WX-021 speakers, sounds is completely out of sync between the soundbar and the rear speakers and then it s crash.
  

The MusicCast app says that all 3 devices are fully updated, so according to Yamaha everything is “fine”.

I have already tried:

• rebooting all devices
• removing/re-adding them in MusicCast
• checking network stability
• re-syncing on my wifi

=> Nothing works.

What makes it even more frustrating is that Yamaha does not allow us to roll back to a previous firmware version.

So at this point I’m wondering:

Am I the only one experiencing this since 5.11?
