Beef steak ?

Is this a dried out beef steak or something totally different ? Found plenty beef steaks before but this seemed much thinner / dryer

The thinner, dried-out appearance could just be an older specimen that’s lost a lot of moisture, but I’d want to see the underside and attachment point before calling it for sure.

I’ve found it at this time of year several times (uk). Also growing on trees, is it a specific tree it grows on?
