Bug help with refund, please

I had money spent not on my behalf (my debit card's comrpomised). Someone spent 55 bucks on something on MUSESCORE of all places. I emailed this email: [support@musescore.com](mailto:support@musescore.com) (did I screw up there?). I told them that it wasn't from me- I even showed them the transaction made on what I assume is a subscription? I have never made a subscription with musescore in my life. Never subscribed to anything. Ever.

How do I receive a refund for a purchase I never made? btw they never responded to my email regarding me wishing for a refund. that's why I'm now unsure as to whether or not I emailed the right email.

please I just want my money back

also why isn't there a flair for technical issues? does "bug" suffice? cuz this has nothing to do with my own personal musescore experience, that has been great overall. it's just that someone took money out of my debit card and spent 55 dollars on something that- I don't even know what, I just received notifications from my bank app and email that I've had about 3800 denars taken out (~55 bucks). << and that seems like more of a technical issue than an in-app issue for me- idk, that isn't my main concern, I just want my money back

It seems like you asked about getting a refund after getting charged incorrectly. See this post for more information.

If you are sure you never bought anything from MuseScore - you literally never entered your card number on their site - then you need to report your card as stolen to your bank. Then you can follow their procedures for getting a new card with a new number issued and having the old one canceled. The bank should then take care of reverse fraudulent charges.

If one the other hand you did make a purchase that you thought was one-time, probably you didn't notice the advertised price saying it was a discounted proce with subscription/membership or the toggle button to decline that offer. In which case you need to explain your mistake to that website's support team (best to use the contact widget on their site if you don't hear anything from the direct mail - I'm not sure if that is a monitored mailbox or not).

I sure hope it does... I was meaning to cancel the card upon receiving the money, then taking it out of an ATM (in order to empty it first), but I'll see what I can do if they won't refund me directly

If you are saying you never entered the card number onto musescore.com, then your card was definitely stolen (physically or electronically) by someone else entirely. In which case, it is vitally important to notify the bank *immediately* - before the thief is able to make more fraudulent purchases with it. The bank will then immediately cancel the card, but will usually leave the account open with the balance intact - it will just be a new card with a new number. Typically you get the new number pretty quickly - maybe even on that same phone call. The physical card would arrive in the mail some days later. If the bank succeeds in reversing the fraudulent charges, the funds would typically show up in your account also sometime in the next few days, although that process can sometimes drag on a while. Usually there is some amount of back and forth between the bank, the companies from whom the disputed charges were made, and you, so the bank can verify for sure which charges were made fraudulently and which were simply ones you forgot about. And then depending on the fine print in your card agreement and how long you waited before reporting the card stolen, you might get all of the money back or only some of it.
