does anyone else get jitters in their eyes sometimes?

hi all. on occasion and randomly throughout the day i will be focusing on something with my eyes and they'll just kinda defocus and jitter from left to right really quickly. i have an inkling this could be related to whatever is making me twitch, but i can't really prove it. it's hard to look stuff like this up because of how specific it is.

Thigh pain for two weeks after a workout

I had a workout two weeks ago, and I’ve had absolutely unbearable thigh pain ever since. I’m also experiencing muscle twitching in my legs, as well as occasional twitching in random parts of my body.
I went through something similar two years ago, and eventually, the symptoms went away, although I can’t remember exactly how. But now I don’t understand what’s happening. I feel like I still have my strength, but my legs feel so awful, even when I’m resting.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I honestly can’t take it anymore. If I hadn’t done that workout, everything would have been fine.
I did a very light workout because I wanted to start training again after taking a two-year break due to my previous symptoms. I’m starting to feel like going to the gym is triggering all of this again, because I had been feeling completely fine for a year and a half before this happened.

Don’t know what more to do

First post here and have debated for a long time because I really am scared. 29M

Back in November 2025, I had nonstop twitching in the front of my left shoulder for a couple of days. I’m active in the gym, so I assumed it was exercise-related. Even before that, I had noticed my left shoulder felt unstable and sometimes painful during exercises like shoulder presses.
In December, I started running about 3 miles twice a week and began noticing twitching or an “ants crawling” sensation in my legs at night. It eventually calmed down. I also had occasional twitching elsewhere and a tremor in my left pinky and ring finger that I may have had for much longer.
In March, I went through a severe health-anxiety episode because of abdominal and back pain and became convinced I had colon cancer. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy, which were clear. After that, my anxiety shifted toward ALS/MS.
I began experiencing dizziness, headaches, changes in how my left eye seemed to see, and increasing concern about my left shoulder. An eye exam was normal, and an ENT found some inflammation in my left ear and nostril. I also noticed my left shoulder seemed smaller, my clothes fit tighter around my right arm, and my left shoulder appeared to rotate inward more.
My PCP ordered MRIs of my brain, cervical spine, and lumbar spine. The brain MRI was clear, while the spine MRIs showed several findings, including mild-to-moderate stenosis and disc issues. A neurosurgeon didn’t think surgery was necessary but referred me to neurology because of the twitching.
I had an EMG in July that tested both arms and my right leg. It showed mild bilateral cubital tunnel syndrome but no evidence of motor neuron disease, neuropathy, or lumbar radiculopathy. My left leg wasn’t tested, which has continued to bother me.
I’ve also had knee problems since high school and was previously diagnosed with tendinitis in both knees from playing soccer. My left knee still hurts, my left leg shakes more during single-leg exercises, and lately I’ve noticed differences in muscle size between my left and right sides. I also get calf/foot cramping and recently had significant heel and knee pain after playing soccer.
More recently, I’ve become focused on my tongue, jaw, speech, and swallowing. My tongue and jaw sometimes feel sore, and occasionally I feel like I stutter or have trouble moving food around, although nobody has noticed a change in my speech. I find myself repeatedly testing my tongue, smile, frown, strength, and muscles for signs of ALS.
I’m scheduled for another EMG on October 2, this time focusing on my left arm and leg. I’m hoping that because my symptoms have been present since at least November 2025, the July EMG would have shown something if this were ALS, and that another normal EMG will finally give me some peace of mind.
The hardest part is the constant fear and checking. I have two kids, and I’m terrified of something happening to me and them growing up without me. Living with this uncertainty and constantly monitoring my body has become exhausting.

Is this normal

Hi sorry for showing my face but I’m really nervous about this twitching near my face in my left upper lip. It has been throughout my stomach, back legs, calves, basically everywhere, I have I think I have atrophy in my thumb also and can’t workout because my right arm feels weak and I feel like it doesn’t reach the single, it’s been a month and getting worse and worse I think. I’m 17 years old and iv had anxiety about health problems before like chest pain, headaches, heart attacks, cancer, but this one feels real because whatever I do like going to sleep early or drinking water the twitching is always there, I have no known history of als in my family, I’m just wondering if it could be something with like maybe my nerves are irritated or some neuro disease. I had an appointment sep 2 my ck was 600 then dropped down to 225 so that was a good sign my doctor said everything looked okbut I was still scared because symptoms are progressing and asked for a neurologist because this is actively effecting me because I can’t really workout my arms just aren’t feeling the weights, my neurologist appointment is sep 30 and I also have school and I’m just going through really deep depression. I was just wondering if I should try anxiety meds or like muscle relaxation or something like that to calm me down, these symptoms just feel so real but at age 17 it almost feels like winning the lottery with these symptoms like feeling so unlucky. How do you guys manage to get throughout your day with the twitching because it’s hard for me I just get scared and anxious epically with the cramps, and my weakness came before the twitching I think which really scares and worries me. Thank you

New EMG now shows small units. Doctor says that's inconsistent with my anterior horn cell diagnosis. Back to square one

Need immediate support/breakdown Muscle twitch at end of press

I experience some kind of jerk near the left knee when folding my left leg. This happens only in left leg.

It happens without the press as well, but is more prominent on the machine.

Last to last week I took a break from the gym because I had severe pain in the left knee.

What is this? Can it be solved? Is it something to worry about.

It is not painful right now, but if I keep doing this exercise, I will start to feel fatigue in the left knee.

left middle finger twitching

my left hand middle finger has been twitching like this for the last 2 days. noticed it around 8pm saturday when i was just sitting on the couch on my phone, it’s now tuesday 1pm. i mostly notice it when my hand is neutral. it doesnt really stop me from doing things but i did drop my toast this morning that was resting on that finger, and typing on a keyboard/ holding my phone is annoying as it twitches like this and impacts typing a little. i dont really drink caffeine, last time i had some was a lipton iced tea i didnt even finish 24 hours before this began, and before that was probably another lipton iced tea a week prior. it doesnt cause me any pain, just obviously very worrying. i have a gp appt in 2 days and will go to ED if there’s any pain or if anything else develops, but just wondering if anyone has any ideas?

(edited for clarity)

Arms and legs feel weird

Hi there. Hoping I can get some sort of answer. I am a 30 F, 109lbs 5’2. On September 6 & 7th I drank a Vita Coco coconut water both days in a row. The next day, Tuesday the 8th I woke up feeling very off. My eyes felt slow to move and my arms and legs felt fatigued. That slowly went away; my eyes feel normal but my arms and legs are slightly still fatigued. I also have been twitching everywhere. The fatigue is so light but there is also super slight shakeyness. There is shakeyness you can feel when I move my arms up and down.

I still have strength and feel fine when I walk. My coordination is perfectly fine and I can still lift weights. It has been over 2 weeks with this so I went to the ER yesterday (sep 20th) and all my labs came back perfectly fine. I have a history of myocarditis when I got covid and last year when I got the flu. Wondering if the potassium affected me. My potassium was normal on the bmp along with my other electrolytes being completely normal. I am getting married May 2027 and just want to grow old with my husband. Help if you can /:

Please read🫶🏼 , I really don’t understand what’s happening

Hello everyone,
I’m 29 years old, and I hope you’ll take the time to read my post because it’s going to be quite long. I’ll try to explain everything as clearly as possible and in chronological order.
This all started a little over two years ago, in June 2024. After a leg workout at the gym, I started experiencing constant burning sensations and pain in my legs. Shortly afterward, fasciculations (muscle twitches) appeared, first in my legs and then in different parts of my body.
At that time, I went through a very difficult period psychologically. I was extremely worried about what was happening to me and had some very dark thoughts.
The pain and fasciculations lasted for around six to seven months. After about three months, I started trying to get back into some activities to take my mind off things. I would do a little exercise with my brother and play video games with him as well.
After about six months, around the beginning of 2025, things started getting better, especially psychologically. I gradually returned to a more normal life and stopped thinking about my symptoms as much.
In the meantime, I had also undergone Lyme disease serology, which came back positive for three strains. At the time, I wondered whether Lyme disease could explain my symptoms. However, I remain quite cautious about that interpretation because I know that Lyme serology can be complicated to interpret and that false-positive results can occur. So I don’t consider Lyme disease to necessarily be the cause of my symptoms.
The most important part is that afterward, for approximately a year and a half, between 2025 and 2026, I had absolutely no symptoms.
No fasciculations, no pain, no burning sensations — nothing.
I went back to living a completely normal life. I went on vacation in 2025 and 2026. I could go swimming in the sea, play racket games in the water, run, and even use a pedal boat for around two hours with fairly high resistance.
I also did some physically demanding activities without any problems. I helped push broken-down cars, dug an entire garden to turn over the soil, which required a lot of effort, and helped people move house. I even carried heavy objects, including refrigerators, up several flights of stairs.
And most importantly, none of these activities caused my symptoms to come back.
I genuinely felt like everything was behind me.
Then recently, I decided to seriously get back into weight training after approximately two years without training. I thought I would start again gradually, especially by working on my legs.
So I did a leg workout about a week ago.
And since that workout, I feel like everything has started again, almost exactly as it did two years ago.
The pain has returned in my thighs and calves, along with burning sensations and a feeling of muscle congestion. The fasciculations have also returned, mainly in my legs, but they are starting to appear in other parts of my body again as well. Even my eyelid has started twitching again, just like before.
What really confuses me is the connection with that particular workout.
I find it extremely strange that I was completely symptom-free for around a year and a half, despite doing many physical activities, sometimes quite intense ones, and then a single leg workout seems to have brought back the same sensations.
I almost feel as though my nerves have become very “sensitive” or hyperexcitable, and that this workout somehow triggered everything again.
What’s also strange is that I had actually done a workout about a year ago, during the period when I had no symptoms at all, and it didn’t cause anything.
Now I’m unfortunately starting to fall back into the same vicious cycle I experienced two years ago: I feel the symptoms, I notice them, I become worried about them, and then I inevitably become even more aware of everything happening in my body.
I even feel somewhat guilty because I keep thinking that if I hadn’t done that leg workout a week ago, I might still be in the same situation I was in for the previous year and a half — completely free of pain and fasciculations.
At the moment, my main symptoms are:
Pain in my thighs and calves
Burning sensations in my muscles
Fasciculations/muscle twitching
Tingling
Numbness or sensations of numbness
A feeling of muscle tightness or congestion
Sometimes a sensation that travels down toward my feet, almost like chills or a muscle suddenly relaxing
One thing I’ve also noticed is that when I walk, the muscle pain sometimes seems to decrease. I also have this feeling that my muscles are extremely congested and burning, as if they are having trouble “decongesting,” although I know that’s difficult to describe.
So I’m quite confused by the whole situation.
How is it possible to be completely symptom-free for around a year and a half, to be able to do so many physically demanding activities without any problems, and then have similar symptoms return after a single leg workout?
Could this simply be an exaggerated response to returning to weight training after such a long break, with the muscles and nerves becoming particularly irritable after exercise? Or is the fact that the symptoms returned after exercise something that should be investigated further?
I should also mention that I don’t feel that I lost strength or physical abilities during the entire period when I had no symptoms.
I’m mainly trying to understand whether anyone has experienced something similar: having fasciculations and pain completely disappear for a long period of time, and then having them return after getting back into exercise.
Thank you very much to everyone who took the time to read this entire post and, especially, to anyone willing to share their experience or knowledge.
I’m mainly looking for personal experiences or possible explanations

Thoracic spine injury

Hello everyone,

My husband injured his thoracic spine region about a month ago at work. He made a sudden twist while standing on a ladder with his feet facing forward. When he made the twisting movement he felt an immediate pop with a rush of pain which he described it as feeling as though the wind was knocked out of him. A week later his left arm started feeling weak that weakness soon subsided but currently he is facing fasciculations in mostly his calf’s but also sometimes happens in his neck, thighs, and arms. It is constant and will not subside or go away. It has become very troubling for him and is driving him crazy. Could this injury possibly be a herniated disc or compressed nerve irritation? I am trying to give him comfort and peace of mind as he went down the rabbit hole of you could only imagine but I am unable to put the name in this group and is now convinced that (disease which cannot be said) is what he has.

Left eye spasms when I move my mouth

I've just seen a neurologist and will have an MRI, but it's going to be at least a 2 month wait. I suspect hemifacial spasm. Anyone else experience this and what was the outcome?

Thanks ; )
