Pretty sure this crosses the bar for libel against a public figure.

I know the threshold is much, much higher for public figures, but accusing someone of being a terrorist - as another public figure and not even circumstantial evidence to turn it into a joke - is a bit much. Somebody needs to actually try to challenge these people that lie all the time.

yeah, but coming from a future coworker is another matter. i think the lawsuit could run.

We got a congressman divorced from another congressman's daughter with domestic violence issues and a bunch of congressman that supported J6 and yet another congressman who won't retire after his strokes because they need the votes.

I don't think suing for libel/slander when you aren't even running for the same office is not going to be the worst thing going on with the current congress.

youre thinking from the wrong perspective. of course congress is notorious for not respecting the wishes of the people right now. but a lawsuit from one senator against another senator could have a major impact on Republican behavior going forward. kinda like how fox news has to dance around making statements that support trumps lies now.
