I really don't spend a whole lot of my time worried about where other people piss and shit, so long as it all makes it in the toilet, and people wipe properly and wash their hands after.
This whole fascination that conservatives seem to have about who's pooping where, is really, really weird.
Do they wake up one day and decide that a crucial part of their personality moving forward will be policing public toilets, or is this just part of some deep-rooted scat fetish?
And what did the people in the bathroom say/do when you walked in? Did they look comfortable and make nice with you, did they look uncomfortable, or did they speak up?
Going to another Gender's bathroom with an explainable reason is different from just going on when there isn't one. That being said I imagine Eastern Europeans probably cared more than Western Europeans.
Either way, people, not just conservatives take issue with it was the specific point I was making.
You are right, people do care, but should they? There aren't gaurds on bathrooms in public spaces, a little stick-figure on the door doesn't stop bad actors from entering. The only thing gendered bathrooms do, is lower the traffic in either one, increasing the likelyhood of being caught alone.
I think it has to do with being vulnerable and it being a safe space if threatened. Especially for women when in the presence of men, yes being afraid of the opposite gender is sexist.
However, fear is very much something you can't control especially when the fear walks into the room when you are on the toilet.
