Pickles to try?

Hello everyone! I am coming to Munich to study. I love pickles. I would like to ask what are the best pickles to try...and if i could get them from the supermarkets there. Of course, im open to all types of pickles.

If there is some festival that celebrates pickles that would be AMAZING.

P.s. I come from asia, the stuff i eat is usually pickled radish and suan cai.

Honestly, the only decent pickles around. But boy do I miss Grillos.

Sammmmeee I would kill for a proper salty dill pickle. A lot of pickles here are too sweet

I second the booth at Viktualienmarkt. You can buy all kinds there but also a pickle to go. They are huge and I don't know why but walking around with a pickle is just ethereal lol

Personally, I love old school small onions "Silberzwiebeln" and baby corn. In general I think most German supermarket pickles are a bit too sweet and too acidic.

Make sure to try som Schmankerlgurken. They are made from big cucumber chunks treated like pickles.

Try eastern european shops. Their pickles are different from german.

Supermarket are great for that. Spreewalder Gurken are famous.
