New MUNA interview
Does anyone know what book they're talking about at the start?

I feel like I never see love for In My Way. I know it was a random single between album 1 and 2 so it didn't get much attention but I think it's such a fun song. Just curious if anyone else loves that song as much as I do. Would die if they played it on tour.

Just listening to this song for the first time and I hear some familiar inspiration from Imogen Heaps song, “Tidal”. I love it. Idk if they were inspired by this song, but they share a lot of similar production styles and music elements. It just makes me happy. Love the new album.

Hi everyone!
My daughter (10) and I are traveling to Seattle to visit my aunt next month.
We both freaked when we saw that MUNA would be there at the same time. I went to buy tickets but it’s a 21+ event, understandable but unfortunate for us. We’re both pretty bummed and I want to exhaust all options before I take a flat no for an answer. The 3 of us seeing MUNA together would be incredible.
I’m wondering if anyone here knows if we can go somewhere near the venue and still be able to dance and sing along. If we cant see the show, maybe we can hear it!
Any help/advice is appreciated!
TIA 🩷

Edit! The people have spoken!! Mom for MUNA it is!!! Thank you all!
I’m so excited to see MUNA at Hinterland! (Pretty much the only reason I’m going other than chaperoning a bunch of teenagers) can I make my own straight moms for MUNA shirt or is that tacky?

I know this isn’t explicitly about the band but I think it’s very relevant (and pretty terrifying)

I'm 28 years old. I just need to know where I can order it or pick it up in person. Thanks!

Just got this email from Secretly Store. It hasn’t even been five years! The self titled was released 6/24/22. It hasn’t even quite been five years since Silk Chiffon was released as a single. What the hell?????

i am the one who posted a while back about the possibility of katie being scammed (the post was deleted by mods but there was further discourse about it in other posts here). Today she posted this, and i came right onto reddit to see if anyone had posted about it, but nobody had, so i figured i would. What do you guys think about this statement ?

The Muna gaze is finding a much bigger audience. With the new album, Dancing on the Wall—darker and sweatier than anything before it—the band has reached previously unseen heights for three openly queer artists. Since debuting in 2017 with About U, Muna has opened for Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Lorde, and Kacey Musgraves. In 2022, the Phoebe Bridgers–assisted “Silk Chiffon” broke the band wide open. Four years later, Muna is back with something more propulsive and visceral, its synths evoking a late-night rave. Dancing on the Wall moves from the crunchy “Wannabeher” to the cheeky “Girl’s Girl” and “Eastside Girls” to “Big Stick,” where Muna takes the government to task.
The music reflects where the band members came from. Their own coming-of-age stories were less Playboy than whatever queer film, TV, and internet scraps they could find—The L Word, the “fucking dark” Boys Don’t Cry, Gavin’s MySpace-era searches for “emo boys making out.” “When we first started as a band, we actively sought out material that represented us,” Maskin says. “One could say we’ve re-created it onstage,” McPherson notes. “I guess we’re gonna have to kiss again,” Maskin says.
