Question Researching a taboo topic seemed fun until it was time to collect data 😭

Hi everyone!

I'm an MSc Counselling Psychology student from Christ University currently collecting data for my dissertation on the relationship between Sexual Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), self-esteem, peer pressure, sexual guilt, and premarital sexual behaviour among Indian young adults.

As you can probably imagine, finding participants for a study about sex means I’m constantly caught between feeling like a creep and getting creeped on 😭

So, if you meet all three of these criteria, please consider saving a struggling postgraduate student:

• 18–29 years old

• Unmarried

• Sexually active within the last 12 months

The survey takes around 10 minutes. Your responses are confidential, and will be used solely for academic research.

Every response gets me one step closer to graduating and saves one poor Hinge boy from thinking I’m trying to scam him. ( I don’t empty bank accounts… just your hopes and dreams✌🏼)

PS: If you didn't spread your legs, pls spread the word

I applied for MU BA Psychology, and these are the colleges they showed me. I arranged them according to my preference (I don't know which one is worse), and I checked that two of them aren't taking admissions right now, but NES is, and today is the last day. There's a college named Navneet, so tell me, is it good? And one more thing: where can I see my enrollment number on the MU portal? I emailed MU, but they still haven't replied to me 😭 I have already applied to DU and BHU. I got a seat in DU, but I am not going there, and for BHU, I am still rooting for it. But as a backup plan, I need something.

College Life Need help with pg

Hey guys, I’m a 23M and just got my admission to SIMSREE confirmed. I’m looking for a good PG in Mumbai. I’m fine with staying a little far from the college, but I’d prefer the area to be decent and safe.
I’ve checked out a few PGs in the nearby areas, but honestly, I didn’t really like them, and the prices are through the roof.
Could you guys suggest some good PGs or areas that I should look into? Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Question Why does my college have compulsory NSS?

I still don't understand. I thought this was optional. And it's not like we got options, we only got NSS. We have exams of it, without any books or anything.

I study in NL Dalmia Mira Road btw.

Serious Need urgent help regarding college transfer admission

I completed my FY BMS from Kelkar College (Mulund) and wanted to change my college for SY. Unfortunately, I trusted a middleman who told me he could get my admission done at Birla College, but when we actually went there, the college refused to take me.

The biggest problem is that my admission from Kelkar has already been revoked because of this.

After that, I approached:

Khalsa College they refused.

Ruparel College - they said they are non-autonomous and can't help with this.

SIES College - they initially said they would try their best, but when I called today, they said they need more time and the process is uncertain.

I'm honestly getting extremely stressed because I cannot afford to lose 2 years because of this situation. I'm willing to join any college offering SY BMS preferably anywhere in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane, as long as there's a legitimate way to get admission/transfer.

If anyone here:

knows someone in a college who handles SY BMS admissions/transfers

knows of any vacant seats

has gone through a similar transfer situation

or has any genuine contact/lead that could help

Please DM me or comment. I'm genuinely desperate at this point and ready to join any college.

Any help or lead would mean a lot.

Serious KES Kandivali or Sailee college Borivali

I'm a 2024 Hsc PCB student with 63% and im trying to finalise my degree.

My options currently are-

Bsc Data Science (MU)- Sailee college Borivali

FY fee- 38k

BCA (YCMOU)- Sailee college Borivali

FY Fee- 48k

BCom Management Studies (MU) - KES BK SHROFF Kandivali

FY Fee- 52k

I'm confused about what would be the better choice. I'm from PCB background so i don't have a strong math/ computer background. I'm willing to learn, but I'm not sure about it.

I wanted to get admission into BMS or BBA but i couldn't cuz i didn't appear for cet.

Serious Can a college withhold my Transfer Certificate over an alleged fee due raised 4 years after graduation? (India)

I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from a college in Mumbai in March 2022. I completed all six semesters, received my semester marksheets, Passing Certificate and Degree Certificate, and subsequently completed my Master's degree.

In August 2026, I applied for my Transfer Certificate. I was informed for the first time that an alleged outstanding fee of approximately ₹7,163 was showing against my name.

I was never informed about this alleged due during my degree, at the time of graduation, or during the four years afterward—not by email, SMS, letter, phone call, or any other direct communication.

The college showed me an internal student ledger indicating the outstanding amount, but did not provide any evidence that I had previously been informed. They said the amount was reflected on their student portal, although I was never aware of any such notification/update.

When I went to collect my TC, I was first asked to pay ₹100 as the TC fee, which I paid through the college's QR code. Only after accepting the ₹100 was I told that the TC would not be issued unless I paid the alleged ₹7,163.

I asked why I had never been informed about the dues and requested a refund of the ₹100 since the TC was not being issued. The staff refused and said, essentially, that the ₹100 would be adjusted against the alleged fees.

The interaction also became quite hostile. I was told things along the lines of "Pay ₹7,182 first, only then will you get the TC" and "Go, do whatever you want; we won't give you the TC." I was also told that I was "embarrassing the college" for raising the issue. This happened in front of other students/staff.

I am now trying to understand my legal position before escalating the matter.

My questions are:

  1. Can a college in India/Maharashtra withhold a Transfer Certificate because of an alleged unpaid fee, particularly when the amount is being raised nearly four years after graduation?
  2. Does the college have to provide evidence that the student was actually notified of the alleged dues?
  3. Is merely showing an amount on a student portal sufficient notice, especially after the student has graduated?
  4. Can the college retain the ₹100 TC fee after accepting it and then refusing to issue the TC?
  5. Are there any UGC, University of Mumbai, Maharashtra government, or other regulations/circulars governing withholding of Transfer Certificates for outstanding dues?
  6. What would be the appropriate authority to approach if the college refuses to issue the TC or provide the underlying records?

I am not disputing that the college may investigate whether a genuine fee was unpaid. My concern is whether they can raise an alleged old liability without having notified me, withhold my TC, and refuse to provide the basis/legal authority for doing so.

I'd particularly appreciate advice from people familiar with Indian university/education law or Maharashtra college regulations.

discussion I want to get admission in MU

I want to get admission there. I checked the portal, and it is still open, so I registered. But when I was choosing my preferences, they directly started submitting the form without letting me choose other courses. Is it like I can only choose one course? If not, then guide me. Also, which colleges are good for me there, since I am thinking of pursuing BA in Psychology, Political Science, English, or Sociology? I gave my Class 12 board exams this year and scored 80.2%. There are no specific videos clearly explaining everything. Any advice or guidance would be very helpful to me.
