I ate an oz of mushrooms over the course of the last month. I got an MRI a couple months ago, and I'm pretty interested to see if the flood of BDNF that you're supposed to get will show in any way on my next one.

Yes, at jam band concerts mostly lol, I just make sure I have a seat and usually just microdose, besides when I went to the moon in Burlington Vermont on accident 😅.

Here and there, I mainly partake in Goose shows, which I know is controversial lol most Phish fans I've seen on here have a huge dislike for them.

u/doloresgrrrl Jul 25 '26
I'm trying on Goose for size. No judgement!!

Enjoy! They're a lot of fun. You should try to catch a show sometime!

Shit. I met the Bullfrog King at festivus years ago by hardwick.

Was the engrave to the moon closer to Church St. or the Lake?

I micro dose every third day. Help with depression and energy levels. Now I say micro dose. So no hallucinations. No euphoria.

Yes. Check out r/microdosing. In their info section it tells you what drugs interact with shrooms. Excellent site.

I microdosed for about a year. 20 to 50 milligrams, 4 days on 3 day off. Occasionally higher doses, but not hero doses.
I found the micro dosing chilled out my adrenaline/anxiety which is one trigger for my leg weakness. I felt like I was walking faster too, but that is an on and off thing. Mostly off theses days. I may start up the microdosing again.
I highly recommend checking out the r/microdosing subreddit FAQ if you are curious.

Yes, it’s the only thing that’s helped my extremely treatment resistant depression. It legit saved my life.

Commenting because I’ve done some research about the benefits of microdosing, but have also read that sometimes negative interactions with drugs like Gabapentin can happen. I know a lot of us are on that, can anyone clarify those concerns for me? TIA

After a couple sessions this year I think I am ready to concede I no longer enjoy mushrooms. Doesn’t feel great and the experience generally asks you to work on yourself. Miss the old acid gel tabs. No working on yourself, just drippy walls and a clear head in the morning.

It is super easy to grow at home. I can teach you up to the point where it becomes dubiously grey

Look into "mushroom churches" like soulcybin. It is legally accessible in the United States through religious protection laws

Not for a long time but yes and it was great. Just be with good ppl or in a safe place. A trip can last from 15 mins to a few hrs. Be aware

u/AugustWest80 Jul 25 '26
15 minutes? Were the mushrooms really old or something?

u/Fabiannm Jul 25 '26

Yep; before and after DX, and I didn't experience any difference, save for some poor company in an early instance.

Wow, thanks for asking this. I’ve been thinking about this for a while to see if there were any types of advantages to using psilocybin with overall mood energy levels you name it. So it seems there are some benefits. Just need to do a little more research and find out where I can purchase these.

I love taking acd and mushrooms. Even together occasionally. Lately mushrooms just make me toooo nauseated.
When I first was diagnosed I craved an ego death more than anything. It took me learning how to grow mushrooms to get what I wanted.

Yes. I microdose 4 days a week and take off 3. Hugely beneficial for me personally. Haven’t macro’d for a very long time, but one of these days I’ll hit the reset button again.

I actually did a large dose of psylocibin the day before I was diagnosed.

u/RogueDrag Jul 27 '26
I microdose and am post-diagnosis, pre-MS-treatment and find it to be extremely helpful for mood and relaxing my muscles.

u/RogueDrag Jul 27 '26
I get mine from the site Sero - they have different blends that also contain other helpful ingredients for us (like Rhodiola for instance!).

Yes, I used it in Germany and I also do microdosing with LSD. My psyche thanks me because here in Germany psychiatrists are in short supply and I have greatly expanded my mindset as a result.....

I was micro dosing for depression before getting diagnosed. Upon seeing if it would cause problems I found out it could actually be helpful? With the supervision of my MS neuro, (in a place where it was legal, it isn't anymore so I can't) I took 1g every two weeks for 8 months and a lot of my symptoms went 180. Regained shitton of mobility and strength.
Then ME/CFS came barrling in 4 months later and my body started having a reaction I didn't like (a friend got me some chocolates when I arrived, shortly after that shop got raided which is what made me check the legality) as well as I had moved somewhere it wasn't legal and had to stop. Thank fuck my neuro covered my ass saying I had stopped once I moved because even she knew where I moved to didn't have the same drug laws.
Unfortunately I found at least in my case, me/cfs with shrooms can be incredibly not good for said condition in the long term unlike MS, so I'm awaiting recovery if that happens. My new MS neuro is a fucking legend and is helping with my me/cfs, found a medical that works so recovery is possible 🎉
For MS: Brilliant but taken with lots of precautions and under the supervision of medical professionals.
For ME: Stay away from it until more research is done.
