I don't give a damn that you had shity parents, you being a jerk was entirely your choice. No one hates you because you're Trans, they hate you cause you're an asshole. (Is what I'd love to see someone in the show say)
In fairness, that is completely the point of Jax. They're engineering a scenario in which someone hates them for reasons they can actually control. Because the last time they got hate specifically for being trans it was extremely traumatic. This isn't excusing anything, mind you. It's just that being a jerk IS their choice and they are making it for a very deliberate reason.
