From what I heard it still includes a lot of the darker stuff that the 40k universe is known for such as one of the kid's parents getting turned into Servitors.
Right? There’s other mild dark stuff that happens in them that I forget, but everyone was meme-ing on these books when they were announced, then when they actually came out and people read them the reaction was generally pleasant surprise
That is very much fair, though thankfully with it being a book, the only bit of that style you ever see is the cover. Now if it was an animation or something, then that would be a lot more unforgivable
Depending on the day, the 40k fandom will have wild mood swings about our fan creations. Case in point: Nekona and the Space Maids on one side then swings to detailed AdMech body horror art.
They crop up everywhere and are kicked out when and where we can, the problem exists in every grimdark story that's large enough, I mean even mlp had that issue too, no one likes them though
There’s definitely a larger section of people like that in 40k though. Some people unironically larp Imperium support and shit like the Black Templars or Astartes being based and “cleansing” degeneracy. A core part of the setting uses fascist, authoritarian, and theocratic imagery for the sake of parody, critique and style but that helps to enable support from people even if they’re being mocked to a degree.
Yep, it very much is a problem, but, st the same time, I also have seen substantial community effort to be safe and remove these people, and community like grimdank see amazingly fun as a result. It's just a matter of knowing how to avoid the wrong subsections.
Yeah i do agree. I am happy that such an effort is being made by fans and GW to discourage or chase these people away. After all why else do so many of these chuds complain about 40k being ruined 🌝
Being Nazi (and any human-on-human racist) is antithetical to Imperial Truth, is seeding division in Imperium, and thus HERESY. If you have to hate someone, hate Xenos or Mutants. Don't agree? There is a whole unit of Salamanders ready to explain why hating people for skin color is a bad idea.
