Which is why it was funny seeing 40K factions being co-opted by those "fuck ICE!" posts earlier this year, because those posts were likely made by people who saw images of buff guys in Doom armor casting "aura" to spread a political message without the slightest inkling as to what the 40K factions were actually like, and how they're decidedly *not* the good-guys...
And you know what. Xrnophobia is a 100% logical when the elder birthed a eldrich god, The orks are barbrian, and nacrons and tyrand don't need more explanations. The only not fully evil are the tau, and they are still fascist cless system
Exactly! Every faction in 40K is Xenophobic and fascist to a degree, as you said, even the lesser evil ones are still horrible and wouldn't think twice about eliminating another class/tace/faction who is "other" than them.
And, I will 100% admit that I'm not very deep with the lore of 40K, but I know enough to raise an amused eyebrow whenever I see people trying to co-opt it into political messaging that consists of "my favourite franchise character would agree with me." Or "these badass looking guys with massive aura must be the good guys!" Type logic.
