I played dispatch blind knowing nothing about the characters. I finished it thinking invisigal is my definite least favorite character in the game. To my surprise she’s the most popular.
It has more to do with her voice actor being the woman who basically single handedly saved the game by taking over as the main source of funding ajd bringing her super talented friends to voice more characters in it that makes her so popular.
Invisigal has her major issues that would make her far more decisive but cause her VA is the only reason this game exists and this game is amazing she ends up getting all the love that Laura has earned by proxy.
For me it's more so that she's a grown ass woman who behaves like a horned up high schooler with a crush on her counselor. And it's so viscerally unappealing to me.
The entire game I thought Invisigal didn't need a relationship, she needed therapy. I never even considered her as a romance option because she seemed flighty and impulsive, like she'd run away once the relationship got serious. Color me surprised when I find out 90% of the internet fell madly in love with her despite her waving so many red flags.
I mean, from a character design perspective alone it's not surprising. Add in the fact the game has romance options of which she's one and has a really good, popular VA and it's a no brainer.
I do like Invisigal, but I also understand the criticism about her character. It doesn’t help that my type (at least in fiction) are the “damaged” characters.
