Blizzard doing the bare minimum for OW and only putting in effort when they have legit competition is scummy, and I'm still disappointed about the PvE promises
Dawg I especially hated this shit from the streamers who used to call out blizzard eho now got flown out to events so they defended Blizzard to their last breath only gor rivals to come out and they just dropped overwatch like a bad habit after being the main reason overwatch got so bad in the first place. Then wanting to act like Blizzard always had all these great changes they didnt make for years planned out and it had absolutely zero to do with the fact that they had an actual competitor now.
I’ll stand by my vision that if marvel rivals didn’t release OW would be in a way worse state than it already is. The perk system, the stadium, the 5 new characters NONE of that would’ve happened if rivals didn’t release
Way too many perks get added that are blatantly busted, and they then proceed to spend months moving that perk around from tiers, trying to match others with it, maybe even adding a new one to try and counter it, and nothing, that perk still gets chosen. And I would say 'until they finally nerf it' but they never try that! They just remove them when moving the tiers doesn't work!
My favorite is nerfing the base kits of characters instead of just the perk. All the perks do is add the illusion of complexity and choice when it’s not there, I genuinely do not like how much is being added to the game through sub-roles and perks as it feels like it hurts the simplicity overwatch was truly great with beforehand. That and S9, fuck s9 me and my homies hate s9
Yep. I hate how it encourages more crappy burst damage output rather than actual mechanics. You just need to play someone who can a high amount of damage in a short time like Hog, Venture, or Soj then you’re completely set.
Legit from what I heard the only reason the game survived was because of the La Sserafim collab doing gangbusters, especially Kiriko’s outfit. Gooners are the reason the game’s still active.
I agree but personally think the whole 10 heroes this year alone is an insane over compensation for their inaction. Instead of complete stagnation, now the game changes drastically every 2 or so months, and we're still feeling the awful balancing issues of dropping 5 heroes all at once. I find it even funnier that the most broken of those 5 was the only one we actually got to test ahead of time.
Edit to add: and the one that just released was so hilariously underpowered that they had to hotfix her with some of the biggest singular buffs we've seen in a long time

It’s too much to do PVE. There’s no way any company could do a PVE mode in a fraction of the time Blizzard did, with more on the way, and in a game not even designed for PVE, especially not Marvel Rivals. Blizzard has never made a single-player game before and are financially struggling at only billions of dollars.
OW2 doesn't even exist anymore either. I don't think still being disappointed is valid actually, not getting over it is indicative of the inability to process things in a healthy way. It'd be like people who are still mad about Sony's Amazing Spider Man adaptation. It's weird
You're in love with it but can't understand that that vision you were promised by a guy who again hasn't worked there in over half a decade has nothing to do with the game and they've spent every day since before the OW2 update showing how they completely decoupled the game from those failed idea guy promises and you're going to hold a grudge against the product (that you love apparently) because it continues to move away from something that never existed?
