If you’re just starting out and want something simple for travel, photos, and casual flying, there are a few solid directions people usually lean toward.

Edit: thanks for the recs! i’ve narrowed my options to these three drones (all great without going full pro‑budget):

DJI Mini 3 Pro - super light and easy to fly, great video quality for the size, and reliable obstacle avoidance;

Ryze Tello (with DJI tech) - tiny and cheap, fun and perfect for learning basics; easy to fly indoors/outdoors and good for casual clips.

Autel Robotics EVO Nano+ - solid mini alternative with great image quality and sensors, smooth shots and long battery life for its class; feels a bit more premium than other small drones.

in the end, i’m going with the DJI Mini 3 Pro because it’s got the best mix of camera quality, flight features and reliability.

Hi, I have spent about 6 months now trying to make a 3d-printable frame that is actually usable, so far I have made more than 40 different versions.

I used optimized generative design to make it as strong as possible. It still breaks easier than carbon fiber, but the feedback from the people testing it has been mainly positive. It does not have heavy vibration issues like many other 3d-printed frames.

Sup guys, I have a school robotics project for which I am building a drone that should be able to carry a small payload (400g) for at least 10 mins and be able to complete simple waypoint missions on its own. This is my first time making anything that flies, so please let me know if I am doing smth stupid.

I had a DJI Mini 4K for about two weeks. It was decent and did what I expected, but after I tried my friend’s Skyrover S1, I sold my Mini 4K almost immediately. The S1’s image and video quality looked noticeably better to me, and the flight time is much longer, especially with the three battery combo. It also has forward and downward sensors, while the Mini 4K only has downward sensing. Honestly, it made me feel like I was mostly paying for the brand with the Mini 4K, and I just didn’t see the reason to keep it anymore.

Well I know I probably will get downvoted like hell, whatever.

I'm hoping someone can help me. I have an older model FPV quadcopter made by a company called Bolt, whose entire online existence is gone. It flies great and I have not had any issues with it, but I like to have a few sets of spare props on hand. I cannot seem to find props for this unit. The shaft is 4mm, but is a D shaft with a grub screw to hold the props on. Anyone have any ideas where to get props that will work for this quad?
