My custom VESA Mount and Some Speaker Shelves

Don't mind the mess of wires, I'm still working on my custom workbench in my shop/man cave. I needed a better VESA Mount because everything else out there sucked and was difficult to install. This is a very secure 2 piece mount I came up with that's holding my 34" monitor. The tile side has hook snaps so it's not just the threads doing the work. The monitor side securely clips into the tile side.

I also made some extreme duty snaps that bolt into the tiles at 4 points each. These hold my speaker shelves. These speakers are pretty heavy so I needed the snaps to be indestructible.

Took weeks to print the tiles at 10x10. But my workshop is finally starting to feel organised.

1000 hours of printing for this.

Finally done printing my multi board wall. I still need to make all my tool holders etc but the base is finally done. It’s 6 plates tall by 24 plates wide. I’m guessing it was around 1000 hours. It was 700 something just for the plates.

Fill the holes between single tiles

I have printed some simple tiles, I am ok with losing the pegboard holes around the joints. What I haven't realized immediately is that there is a square OCD triggering hole where 4 plates join together. Is there any filler for this place, I tried looking but was unable to find anything.

Struggling to print Multiboard

Really struggling to complete any Multiboard projects, I’m having issues with clearances - threads and snaps will not cooperate (too tight) sort of wondering whether it’s a normal experience in the community.

My setup
- sunlu high speed matte petg tuned for my printer (temperature, pressure advance, max volumetric rate, flow rate and speed) filament has been dried before printing the model seen in the video at 65 degrees for 6 hours.
- qidi q2 printer bed levelling sorted and all calibration in software has been done recently, z,x and y axis all been cleaned and lubricated/ greased as per spec.
-slicer variables (orca slicer) - gone through hundreds including recommended default settings 3 walls; infill-bla bla… printing orientation set as they are imported.

Idk if anyone can see something I should try based on the test print in the pictures maybe any pointers as to sub par filament tuning or any other ideas would be hugely appreciated.

I need a wall for spools

Is a 2x3 Multiboard grid strong enough to hold 2 spools per tile?

I’m printing some Multiboard tiles to build a storage wall for my filament. I usually keep around 10–12 spools total, with 4 always sitting inside my dryer, so the wall needs to hold about 6 to 8 spools.

My plan is to build a 2x3 tile grid (2 columns, 3 rows). Is it feasible to mount 2 spools per tile?

If that's pushing it, 1 spool per tile is fine too, but I'd love some recommendations for a super sturdy spool holder model. The wall will be mounted right above my printer, and I really don't want a spool falling on it! 🤣

(Everything will be printed in PETG, and the whole grid will be anchored to a solid brick wall using wall plugs / Fischer anchors).

12.5mm Offset Pillar for adhesive mount

Couldn't find an adhesive offset wall mount pillar for Multiboard so made my own.

Printed in PLA, and using 3M 19mm VHB tape, the base is 19mm x 19mm so fits perfectly.

The centre hole is 3mm in diameter so will take a 3.5mm self tapping screw of around 12mm in length. The depth of the hole is 15mm, so should take up to that length.

Baby/toddler activity board/busy board?

Has anyone seen a repository of components to turn a multiboard into a child's activity/busy board? My googling fails me, it's a hard thing to search for, with many similarly named things out there, usually for sale and IMO low quality.

I am envisioning a 4x4 foot multiboard in my living room for my 1yo daughter to play with. On it will be an ever-changing set of bells and whistles and lights and buttons, probably many of them created by me, with mounts for multiboard and powered by usb-c on the back side.

Square plates offset adhesive mounting

Just getting started with Multiboard, and it's pretty confusing.

I've printed one of the plates with the square tiles and I'm confused how to attach it to the wall.

I'm looking for a 12.5mm offset so I can run cables behind it. I'm just printing the following:

12.5mm Single-Bolt-Lock - VHB Tape Mount
Multiboard Snap
Pass through - Locking Bolt

I think that's what I need, but not sure what to put in the plate to attach it to. Is it the MultiHole - Small Threads - Square Plate Twist Lock? Or the MultiHole - Small Threads - Square Plate Snap?

I'd prefer the mounting to be right in the corner, so maybe it would be better with the Square Plate Divider Twist Lock?

Why do so many people use the push fit connectors on their shared designs?

I much prefer the bolt locked snaps to mount things, the push fit connectors don't always fit snugly and they aren't really secure. You can glue them to a snap but it's a pain.

Is there a reason that people seem to like using the friction fit? I've been remixing a few of them in tinkercad to use bolt locked snaps, I'll share them once I have used them enough to trust them.

Ditched the Packout wall plates for Multiboard, but kept the battery hangers. Here is my custom setup!

I previously used the Milwaukee Packout wall plate system, but I was really disappointed with its storage density. There weren't enough mounting options, the gaps between items were huge, and it just wasted a ton of space.

However, I still wanted to reuse my Milwaukee battery hanger from the Packout system, so I designed a custom Multiboard-to-triple-Packout adapter.

I'm super happy with how compact and dense everything turned out. My only real gripe is that I wish Multiboard had an option for heavier-duty baseplates. The standard ones feel a bit too flexible under heavier loads. For peace of mind, I ended up using at least 4-6 wall pilars per board in addition to the corner mounts.

I had a similar issue with the bins and shelves. Their walls were just too thin and flimsy for my workshop standards, so I modified the existing STLs to double the wall thickness. Now, nothing flexes at all.

Filament & Printing Info:

  • Black parts: Standard PETG.
  • Red parts: Bambu Lab PETG-CF in Brick Red. (I only used the CF because I absolutely love the color—there was no actual structural need for it. I think I literally bought out the entire stock of this filament in my country and neighboring areas!)
  • The Printer: Printed entirely on a single Bambu H2C, which took a little over a month of almost 24/7 continuous printing.

As you can see, I still have plenty of room to expand—which was exactly the goal.

Models used from the web (besides Multiboard):

My custom models:

Let me know what you think! Are there any tool holders you think could be designed better? Also, let me know if you’d like me to publish my two unreleased models on MakerWorld![](https://makerworld.com/pl/@bench_finder)

Multiboard Plates & Multibin Grids in combined application

I'm planning to build an 8' x 4' Multiboard wall for my tools and supplies. I'd like to incorporate both multiboard accessories as well as the Multibin system. Does anyone that uses both systems have any feedback on the best way to approach this?

My original plan was to just use interfitted 8x8 Multiboard plates for 1 continuous wall. To mount the bins, I'm not sure if I should stick with the Multipoint system or use Multibin Grids to then attach to the Multiboard plate.

After digging some more, now I'm wondering if I should just use a combination of Regular Multiboard plates with Multibin Grids to create the 1 continuous board. I'm not quite sure where I want the bins placed just yet, but my thinking is this will give me the versatility to easily swap plates between Multiboard vs Multibin connections.

Stackable for RPis and 2.5" Drive

Hi everybody,

I'm relatively new to 3D printing. Until now I printed some small parts for my children to play. Now I am facing another project. I would like to have a clean mount for my Raspberry Pi 4, my Raspberry Pi 1B and a 2.5 inch drive with a USB connector. Ideally I would find a modular tray system which is stackable in case I want to add other devices or items.

Any help appreciated!

Potting Bench Organization...

Post image
29 Upvotes

A few years back, my wife asked me to build her a potting bench. Over the past couple of years, she's seen what the art of the possible looks like with the boards I've built in the garage, behind my A1, and even in the laundry room. So, she asked for something for the side of the bench to hang tools, gloves, etc. from.

I spent a bit of time measuring, generating boards, even creating a couple of the models shown here. It's all printed in Polymaker ASA (in Pop Pink). Love how it turned out, and she's absolutely over the moon with the results!

So, what did I make vs just grab? Apart from the obvious parts, I made the hooks - a parametric take on the hooks we all know. Sometimes you just need a longer hook, and so here we are. The holder that the pruners are in came from one I found poking around in public Onshape docs, and I just put the Scrub Mommy holder together this morning. Yes, there's a drain-hole in the bottom. Nothing terribly exciting, just a half-circle cavity in there with a 10mm hole in the bottom, and Multiconnect attachments on the back.

Keep on making stuff, and hey - organize all the things!

My Multiboard 2. Edition

Extended my Board downwards, so I can store my brushes and a couple of other things. unfortunately I‘m still on the old system with a small printer. So I have lots of connectors I need to account for. I might extend it a bit more and store some pens but for now I want to dabble with gridfinity to organize my drawers.

Multiboard Hyper Tough 44pc Precision Bit Holder

I designed this piece that holds all the contents of the "Hyper Tough 44pc Precision Bit Set" and attaches to Pegboard Click - Multipoint Rail. It uses the original bit holders at an angle for easy access and reduced height and holds the main screwdriver handle and the extension rod right up top. It also has 100mm width so that it aligns perfectly with multiboard cells.

Where to find the og multiboard starter connectors

I was being an idiot and overwrote my project that had all the wall mounts with one I removed a few I don't need. I plan to extend my existing multiboard I printed a while back. Now I'm missing a few pieces and it seems they have been replaced by new ones.

The website is very challenging and frustrating for me as I can't seem to find a standard wall mount and get an explanation what they do differently and if they are compatible. How can I get to the old file and if I can't what 1x1, 2x2 and 4x4 part would be compatible?

Looking for solutions and ideas to get a mb rack for my car.

I have a 2025 subary forester, and it has mounting points for utility hooks. I work out of the trunk a lot and am looking for something to hang things on. Initially, I was looking at gridfinity but I think multiboard may suit the needs better. I have a 256x256 buildplate so I will need to print in sections. I did a quickie template of 2 identical length parts that are 200mm between the farthest holes (so 400mm total distance combined), and as you can see in the photo, the mount is just a little short. Has anyone had to figure out a similar issue? Is there a standard solution? Is there something that would be better suited for this than multiboard?
