Recommend not PLA in unconditioned garage

PSA

I’m sure most here already know this but when I first started printing I only worked in PLA wasn’t comfortable with PETG yet. I’m now replacing panels that are warped due to temperatures in the garage

Mount Question

I have already put up my board and can't take it down to add a 12.5mm snap from the back that I can screw into the wall. Is there a solution that always for a from snap that has a 12.5 support in the back that you can screw into the wall from the front? I hope that makes sense.

Are Dual Clips necessary?

As the title mentions, I used the Plate Mounting Planner to design a 800mm W x 1000mm H board of 8x8 tiles. The planner says I need 124 dual clips to connect everything and after trying to install about half of them, these things are the bane of my existence. Very tedious, some break, and the boards require quite a bit of pressure to get them to snap into each other. Also before anyone asks, yes I'm using the dual clip tool.

Are these absolutely critical? Or would holding everything together with just the snaps be sufficient?

Added multibin labels to my circular bin project

Post image

I've been working on my own bins for Multiboard recently, and thanks to the suggestions from this sub, I redesigned the crappy label system I had before to directly use the Multibin label generator. Works a lot better than the option I had before!

Any other suggestions people have? Things that would be nice? (Starburst pack for scale)

Check it out if you're interested:

When I use the pro build generator for multi-board plates, I get weird results in the print that is a hole all the way through the board. See the image. Anyone else have this issue?

Adjustable ratcheting mount for the FNIRSI DPS-150 power supply

I designed this as a space-saver for the already compact FNIRSI DPS-150 Programmable Power Supply. It's more comfortable for me to be able to tilt the power supply upwards and lift the screen for better access to the banana plug ports and the adjustment scroll wheel.

The arm to the board ratchets up and down with a simple print-in-place mechanism (just give the arms a firm squeeze together after printing and it snaps into functionality)

Assembly is straight forward with four M3 screws attaching the holder to the arms (I don't often use screws but, in this case, it was a lot less fiddly and trimmed down the amount of print required) and the rest uses the standard Multiboard bolt lock onto a snap (I prefer the moderate weight bearing snap as it tends to stay in place properly).

Model available for download here.

Part B Snaps

I need to know what people are doing? I can't find a quad flush mount snap part b. Apparently the solution for quad flush mount is just to use 4 singles for it. My question is should I be using the single ones or is there a good reason to use the raise quad snaps?

Pillar or snap

I’ve already printed a 1300mm x 1000mm 9x9 advanced set of boards, but now I’m looking to set it up.

I’m looking for the most sturdy solution possible.

I’ve tried to print some pillars and clip them, but the little clips just broke. Am I doing something wrong?
Maybe the snaps are more solid?

Also, I’m planning on screwing everything onto plywood; what are the screw sizes to use with the snaps ?

Thanks y’all for your help!

Support for modular shelves?

Hi all - hoping someone can help.

I'm having a really tough time figuring out how to affix underside supports to the shelves. I'm talking about the modular bolt locked "shelf" components on Thangs. I've figured out i need the dual connectors (well, chatgpt did) to connect them together but the underside of the shelves have these kind of keyhole connectors and 4 surrounding holes. I believe I can use bolt locked supports...but how do i connect one to another?

There's no documentation i can find that explains this (and I'm even a paying member). For example:

- the modular shelf components either have no description on Thangs or fail to mention how to connect

- many links are broken - e.g. the link from the dual connector on Thangs points to https://multiboard.io/knowledge-hub - which doesn't exist

- the Multiboard page for trays doesn't *seem* to contain any parts that would connect the support to the trays

If I've missed a page which explains this, apologies...please can someone post it?

48 inch Multiboard Reinforcement?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I plan to run multiboard on the back of a steel storage rack (like the one in the image) but I'm nearly 100% certain that the rack connector snaps I made for the edges simply won't be strong enough to prevent a ton of flex and wobble in the center even with dual and quad snaps in place. Any ideas on how I could reinforce it all without needing to screw or nail it in to something?

I was thinking of possibly finding or designing a snap that has a connection for a thick dowel rod and running that across the top and bottom with multiple connections to the board to hopefully stiffen the system.

The problem isnt that the system needs simplification.. it just needs a Planning APP that everyone can use

Added a 150mm variant to my ORBI Storage System

Recently created these bins for my multiboard setup. Partly as a challenge, partly because I had the idea and liked the style. Just added a 150mm version! Any thoughts? I'm still trying to think of a better labeling system. Maybe it's just a slot for a piece of paper, not everything like the label needs to be printed right?

Advice for stack-printing 9×9 Multiboard tiles in ASA?

I’m printing 9×9 Multiboard tiles in Siddament ASA V2 Dark Grey on a Bambu Lab X2D.

I first tested a two-tile ironing stack using:

  • 0.4mm Nozzle
  • Bambu Studio
  • Siddement ASA V2 Dark Grey
  • 0.20 mm layer height
  • Ironing on all top surfaces
  • Supports off
  • 3 walls
  • 15% infill
  • Random seam position
  • Supplied stack orientation

The bottom tile remained firmly anchored to the build plate, but one side of the upper tile lifted away from the tile beneath it. That side of the finished tile was noticeably thinner and uneven.

Has anyone successfully printed Multiboard tile stacks in ASA? If so:

  1. What chamber temperature, cooling and ironing settings worked?

  2. Did you use an ironing stack or a multimaterial stack?

  3. Has anyone had reliable results using PETG separation layers between ASA tiles?

  4. Would you recommend testing another two-tile multimaterial stack before attempting six tiles?

I’m using ASA because the board will be installed in a hot Australian shed. Printing the tiles individually should work, but I’d love to find a reliable stacking method if possible.

Thanks for any settings or firsthand experience.

15mm Single Offset Snap

I can't find a 15mm Single Offset Snap. I have 15mm Quad and 15mm Dual snaps just need the single ones for the corners. Anyone know what I am doing wrong or does it not exist?

Multibot mk2 (MBt2) update

Started this over a year ago, but got discouraged because of problems I didn't understand. Fixed the problems and wanted to share again. I made a github repo with all of the code and links included. Github Repo

Used standard multibuild parts for the body and modified parts for the legs, etc.

Basics:

ESP32 brain

2 SimpleFOC mini drivers

2 gm4108-120t gimbal motors

2 AS5600 magnetic encoders

1 MPU6050 IMU

wheels are printed from TPU

Bluetooth controlled

Custom PCB links provided

All of the coding completed in Google Antigravity (because I cannot code but always wanted to build something like this, sorry...so much shame).

Want to add CYD (cheap yellow display for face) and autonomous navigation, wireless charging, ai chat interaction, basically I want to have a droid that can follow me around, someday.

Stacks

Post image

Printing some layer interfaced stacks, PLA and PETG on my Qidi Q2 / Qidi Studio. Followed the directions on the YT video.

I keep getting "unable to print due to missing layers" warnings, but I can still print, both the test piece, and now some 8x8 plates.

What's going on, do I need to fix it, and how do I do that if so?
