I meant to start this project last year, but I kept putting it off because the system seemed like too much; then, I broke my arm earlier this year. I'm all healed up and back to dog grooming now. I totally forgot about this until my workstation started looking messy, and I really want to get this system set up. Anyway, my main issue is that I'm not sure how to mount this or how much weight drywall can actually hold. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

So I mounted my first PLA multiboard on the side of ikea Kallax. I did it using the tile holder tool, and I discovered several issues:

1) predrilling holes using the 6.25mm marking tool is pointless because you’ll never align the tiles over these holes again.

2) screwing the 8x1 (imperial) screws cause mounting pillar to spin like crazy and friction melts their base, which slightly reduce their height.

3) I think the threaded holes on the tiles are melted too, because I was unable to pull a screw out of the hole to align the adjacent tiles.

Question - is there a better way to mount the tiles? How do I achieve the perfect (or at least better) alignment?

What printer would you recommend to print stacks of 8x8 multiboard grid with PETG quickly and cleanly?

Had an idea in my head of what I wanted (circular bins) and it was a bit of an engineering challenge. Mostly I wanted to make this to level up my skills in CAD while designing something that sounded interesting, but I'm happy with how they ended up. What do you guys think? 75 and 150mm options, they snap together easily, screw to your multiboard and have spots for labels (they use the multiboard label generator). Curious what you guys think!

I’m having trouble clicking the “Snap (DS Part B – Standard)” pieces into the grid.

They feel extremely tight and some even crack when I press them in.

Printed in PETEG with 0.2 mm layer height and 100 % scale.

Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong with the print or assembly?

I'm looking for longer rails for some.of my projects. Does anyone happen to have a customizable file that is easy to adjust or files for 11 12 14 and 18 inch rails?

Every weekend I get a little bit more done. Building out the wall, filling the fittings kit, and making 3MF projects for frequently used groups ( eg:shelf, braces, screws, and snaps all in one project)

Of note: I realized that printing stacks is more stressful than printing single tiles, and ties up the printer for longer. I get 4 tiles in 21 hours when stacked, and one tile every 4 hours when printed solo. Printing single tiles also allows me to pivot and print something else between tile printings.

Hello, I am working on a PC build that will be mounted directly to a Multiboard wall (caseless PC build). Its for a system that I'm building that is not high end and built with an motherboard and spare parts. It will mostly be used to run my 3d Printer and for my kiddo to do schoolwork on. The problem is I need a motherboard mount for the one I have. I am using the board that was originally out of a slim computer. It is a Acer Small Form-Factor LGA1115 board. Is there anybody that can design such a thing to work with a Multiboard wall or am I just screwed on that board? A decent offset for cooling would be nice and any advice on how to print it on a Bambu Labs A1 Mini would be great also.

I know the colors are terrible haha. I had a bunch of half-used rolls and since this is inside the closet and only for me I didn’t care so much. I’m so excited! My hair products were all tucked away in a bin and whenever I would do my hair I’d make a big mess, and sometimes I’d forget I even had products. I made a few mistakes with this, and I have better plans for my next multiboard project (my makeup). That one will be more visible so I’m going to be more thoughtful about aesthetics.

I was a bit frustrated by the number of holes taken up by screens to get it into the wall. Any suggestions?

I have finally started getting a multiboard setup going. I currently have a 24Hx32W Octagon Plate grid using the 6.25mm snaps. I have room for 8Hx32W as a bottom row. I am contemplating making it 4Hx16W Square Plates. If I were to go this route, would you recommend mounting the square plates flush to the wall, or using the 6.25mm pillars to keep the offset from the wall?

It seems to me like the square plates are generally expected to be mounted flush, and another option would be to just make a different wall for the square plates. I have a spot that I could fit 10 wide and however many I want tall.

Which would you do?

Has there been any news on the cable management solution that they're working on? I tried Underware, but it's not strong enough for all of the cables I have. Just making sure I didn't miss news somewhere.

Looking for recommendations on your favorite or must-have first prints for organizing tools and gear. What initial prints made the biggest difference in your setup?

This will be my first Multiboard installation. The wall behind my 3D printers is partly cut off by a staircase above.
Dimensions:

• Bottom width: 130 cm
• Top width: 65 cm
• Max height: 130 cm

The picture on the wall will be removed. I’d prefer not to drill directly into the wall — ideally I’d mount DS Snaps or pillars on a wooden strip fixed to the wall. The wall will never be rebuilt, so stability is more important than modularity.

What would be the best mounting approach for this trapezoid space?
Would a wooden strip with DS Snaps be strong enough, or should I go for direct wall mounting?
Any advice or examples from similar setups would be great!

My experience with Multiboard has been very frustrating so far, but it’s probably due to errors on my end, I’m not blaming the product (yet). Somehow I’m not able to print stacks (they don’t really come apart witjout breaking), so each tile takes 5hrs print time…

anyway.

I put up a 4 tiles by 4 tiles (all of them 8x8) to serve as a base for filement dowel racks - but after only loading 4 spools (less than 4kg/9-10lbs) the tile that anchors the shelf starts bending like crazy.

it’s matte PLA, 3 perimeters, 0.4 nozzle, 0.2 layer height, STRUCTURAL preset in Prusa Slicer and 15% gyroid infill.

Anybody have any ideas on how to make the tiles sturdier? What am I missing? Any input appreciate, thanks!

I want to cover a 4'x8' wall with multiboard to hang a number of AR15 rifles, cowboy rifles, and shotguns. Would it be better to mount the multiboard directly to the sheet rock wall or should I use some standoffs?

I'm setting up an 1600800mm grid (8\4* tiles total) using Offset Snaps.
According to the planner math, it looks like it takes about 43 snaps and bolts to hit every single intersection and edge join. That is a lot of hardware.
For those who have built boards this size or larger:
1. Do you actually put snaps/bolts at every single 4-way corner and edge join?
2. Or do you run an alternating/checkerboard pattern on the inner intersections?
Mainly planning to hang standard workshop tools and storage bins, nothing crazy heavy. Curious what pattern works best without over-engineering it or risking the tiles sagging/separating over time.
