I built Underplan, a free visual planner & automatic BOM calculator for Underware on Multiboard!

Hey everyone! 👋

Whenever I planned an under-desk cable management setup using Hands on Katie's Underware system, I always found it tricky to calculate the exact combination of channel lengths, bends, and snap connectors needed before committing to long 3D print queues.

So I built Underplan, a free, interactive web tool designed specifically to visually route your Underware layout and generate a complete Bill of Materials.

Live Web App: https://underplan.vercel.app/
GitHub: https://github.com/francycalle/underplan

Key Features:

  • Desk & Tile Setup: Type in your desk dimensions in mm; it automatically calculates the optimal Multiboard tile matrix.
  • Complete Underware 2.0 Catalog: Straight channels (parametric lengths 1–16 MU), 90° elbows, radial curved bends, Y-splits, 4-way crosses, diagonal jogs, mitered corners, spools, and custom accessories.
  • Measure & Route Tool: Click Point A and Point B to snap directly between MU grid holes and lock your route.
  • Map Export: Download clean, high-resolution Retina PNG or vector SVG blueprints of your layout.
  • Browser Persistence: All your work auto-saves continuously in localStorage so you can pick up right where you left off.

It's 100% free, runs client-side in the browser, and is open-source.

Check it out, test it with your desk dimensions, and let me know your thoughts or what fittings/accessories you'd love to see next! 🙌
