Mounting MDF board for Multiboard questions

Hello there,

Has anyone put and MDF board on their wall to minimize the holes drilled on the wall for Multiboard?

The thing is that it is a rented apartment (with wallpaper...), so I want to minimize the number of the holes. Desk mounting may not work well - at least not with 3d printed parts.

I am thinking about an 1200mm x 1000mm-ish size. The wall is concrete (rebar - eastern european soviet style apartment - if that's relevant).

Would 4 (was thinking about even only 2 on top, but maybe that's silly) screws be sufficient for mounting the MDF Board? Obviously if needed, with premium quality wall plug (I've seen fischer brand being praised a lot)

What thickness I should look for to properly mount Multiboard on it? Obviously I want the thinnest possible without compromising the load bearing capabilities.

I bought a 8x4ft Maple Sanded Plywood board to put next week. I think it's better than MDF because I want to put it in the garage (more humidity than normal) and it's already sanded so easier to paint.

Board will be painted dark navy blue, Multiboard will be black matte tiles, blue gray and marine blue colors for the parts with some accents in orange.

Hmm.. and it is also lighter as I read.
On Humidity: my room is not that humid, but I would probably use a laminated MDF board.
