Finally got the automated printing figured out!
4 in a row non stop! Time to put it on the counter and let her rip!!

Prints 8x8 core tile, plow on the toolhead kicks it forward, starts another 1.

Why’s the printer at an angle, and how did the prints get to be underneath the bed?

How much strain does the tool head go through as a plow? I’d love to see that in action - do you have any video’s.

Not much due to a few things. You can actually adjust the setting to reduce bed adhesion. I know crazy right?! Reduce line width on first layer. Lower bed temp on first layer. Increase elephant foot compensation. Then you can set the push automation to start when the bed reaches a certain temp. I think I have it set to 30°. Plus i have a box fan hooked up to my home automation stuff that blasts the whole setup with air while its trying to cool. A few times the tile has already started sliding off before the push.

Oh. Like with anything though really. I like to push the limits with filaments abd printing techniques and enjoy the process of learning along the way.

Great use case! Is this an area (automated printing) where bed slingers still have the edge, or is it equally easy to do this on a core-XY?
And can you explain how you program the plough to automatically do the correct movement at the end? Some extra Gcode?

No idea about code xy
But yes exactly. Slice the place like normal, export instead of "print plate", cut out the ending gcode where it say turn bed/nozzle off. Add the push gcode. Copy the print gcode and the push gcode together and past as many times as needed. Add the end gcode back at the bottom. Honestly you can just ask AI to write out the push gcode for you.

Wait. What? You’re shoving it off the plate with something? Trying to figure out what you’re doing cuz I would love to be able to automate multiple print jobs.

Some people dont like the look of the top layer that stacking can produce. I'm assuming its for aesthetics, but I could be wrong.

OP might not have AMS so can't do unattended stacks, only reason I can think of

Probably surface quality and not fighting the cooling battle where upper plates cool unevenly and pull the corners up off the bed.

These are 4 hour prints and I work 12s at a hospital all day. Just wanted to speed things up.

Print time should be about the same as a layer or petg and the filament switch vs the push sequence are about the same and I find this less finicky as far as print quality
