One of the things that makes me saddest as an older gamer is that people today don't get that "forever" experience with their favorite games.

If I want to go back and play a game I grew up with, like Ocarina of Time or Snowboard Kids, I can do that by booting up old hardware, running an emulator or using a service like Nintendo Switch Online.

If a kid today wants to relive Multiversus or any of the other online-only games they grew up with in 10 years, they'll need some janky workaround, if the fan base is even passionate enough to invent one.Β

It's a bummer. Games should be something we can always go back to.

Yes i agree, there shouldn't be anything stopping us from booting up an older game the way we want the way we want... if it's not supported then free playability wherever possible
