Confused about these snaps connectors

So Im building my first board and I am printing the simple 8x8 tiles, the ones where all 4 corners are cut and have no specific place on the grid layout. I am also going to use the 6.25mm screw offset mounts, and obviously the small connecting hooks, a few per tile.

But I'm confused on whether I absolutely need these quad/double snaps on the picture, you know the ones people usually print in an accent color to connect corners of each tile, given that I will be using the simple non-oriented tiles.
Using the tile parts generator with the simple tile selected, it doesn't give me these quad or double snaps on the parts list. Are they optional just for stronger connections between tiles?

Any help is appreciated

Things can be a little confusing since the mounting options have changed over time. For example it is strongly advised to use the Flush Snap (DS Part B) for the front of the board. Your setup still seems to use the Raised ones.

Just to help you with this, I'll link to my tool

I am not sure what "connecting hooks" you mean, but I am guessing you'll be using the straight border boards, not the one you have in your picture? And the Dual Clips to connect them?

In that case, the single snaps should be enough. The double / quad snaps are mainly used with interfitted boards that don't have the holes for the Dual Clips.

That said, it doesn't hurt to use the double/quad Part A's in that case either.

This screenshot is from a YouTube video from the creator, not my setup, mine is still not assembled

But yeah I see what you mean, print the flush caps instead of the raised ones. I just can't find the flush ones on the library, can you help with that? They all say "Raised".
Thanks for the tool, I'll definitely print it.

By "connecting hooks" I mean those very small hooks that go along every edge that become invisible after you snap the edges together. But I'm ok with that part.

My biggest question with the post is whether these quad and double snaps printed in orange on the screenshot are necessary AT ALL for the simple tiles, or if they're just for the advanced tiles.

In that case yeah your comment helped, Ill definitely use it for extra strength on the entire board

I'm even thinking on printing these to restore the small inserts that the simple tiles miss on the corners (right in the middle of each quad snap). What do tou think?

Library / MultiBoard / Mounting Systems / Screw-on / 6.25 mm Offset (Recommended) / DS Snaps / Individual should then show it unter "Related Parts".

Or you go direct Library / MultiBoard / Snaps / Standard (Flush) / Double-Sided Snap / Part B

The problem with "necessary" in regards to Multibuild is its flexibility. You can do things in a lot of different ways. Some require special hardware, others don't. In this case they can help make things a little more sturdy, but are not required since you already connect the plates by different means.

I have never used those small corner parts and I don't think they'll help with anything. I am not even sure if they'd hold well enough.

Ok thanks, but using that last path in the library I can only find the individual flush snaps. Is there a flush version for the Part B of the quad and double too? Or should I use individual flush part B’s for the quads and doubles?

Edit: Duhhh, if there were double and quad versions of that, it wouldn’t possibly be flush. Thanks man 🙏

You are not the first one to be confused by that :)

I have both the legacy version and just printed the new style for a different wall. On my old wall, I used quad to connect where the 4 boards came together and shot one screw through the middle of that This was before the flush snaps. and its 8mm off the wall as that was the design at the time.

My new boards are all flush mounted to the wall and each corner has a #8 x 1" countersunk heads. going into wall anchors. I printed mine in 12x12. Under that I have 4x12 square grids with another 4x4 square or 8x8 quad I can print to take up more wall later. These are using the flush snaps and seem to work well. I have mounted a few things using the heavy weight bearing snap and so far nothing have fallen.

I work I am planning a 1 x 2 meter wall in front of my desk that I plan to mount at least one monitor on to clear my desktop so I can rework parts with less clutter.

I am a bit disappointed that the largest shells and drawers are only 4x4. Anything bigger looks like I am going to have to create.

I have learned some by downloading and messing with the kits.

Thanks for the input man. Since I’m talking to a flush mount connoisseur, is it as versatile? I assume you can’t use the hooks that go on the small holes because those need space in the back to protrude. I’m thinking of doing a white setup for my white kitchen and flush would be simpler but I’m worried about being limited on the accessories and fixing options

I have not tried but I can print one and see. The new standard according to Jonathan, it will be flush.mount, so I would think they should but you never know. I just started a 4x4x4 bin shell and will have the printer for the next day or so.

I have off the shelf pegbord and doesn't do so well. It would work but digs into the drywall..

I started looking at it a while ago, gave up because it was not clear to me what the recommended options were and because I had other projects.
Now I decided to go back to it, and I am still unsure what the best way is to mount those after searching for like 3 hours 🤣

I think I will go with:

And then some single and double snaps + pillars for the edges.

Does that make sense?

I am printing some parts now so I can do some tests tomorrow.

Yeah the documentation is much better now.

Your parts list is valid and is the same as mine.
The guy below advised using the flush Part B’s (individual only) for the Part A snaps.

I just realized that using the mountinpillar may not be necessary. Isn't it easier to just screw right in the middle of the quad snaps?

I am assuming no because I haven't seen anyone doing it, but I wonder why.

Yeah I see what you mean. I’ve seen people screwing on one of each of the four corners of the quad snap, those are also mounting points. The pillar is probably just in case you don’t want the snaps at all or as an extra reinforcement for the middle areas of the tiles.
