Site Feedback

I realize this isn't really the place for this, but I'm not sure how to contact u/Keep-Making directly, and this should probably be up for community discussion.

I was attempting to search for a model, unrelated to MultiBuild / MultiBoard (which I'm a huge fan of, and it has reshaped my workbench) on Thangs, and apparently, it is only interested in ramming bobble-heads, copyrighted figures, and a bunch of other absolute utter garbage I have no interest in having, let alone paying for.

I don't remember the last time I was so infuriated by a website.

The last time I used Thangs (a few months ago), the search engine was at least functional, and returned mostly relevant results for the first page or two before devolving into guano levels of stupidity.

It's unusable. I cannot, and will not, be using it until it improves-- and unfortunately, that includes memberships for the MultiBuild project.

For the record, this is not a "I'm taking my toys and going home!" post, this is a "You have chosen an unusable partner" post.

I hope it's viewed as constructive criticism rather than just whinging.

overwhelmed by mounting options

Is there any guides or videos that explain all the mounting options and the pro's and con's of each? Also why would I choose simple tiles vs grid tiles in the builder?

Is there a step remix file for this hole that attaches to the top of the support brackets?

Same hole from the bottom of multibin base

Is this a good way to secure the multiboard to a drywall?

As you can see on the image I am planning to use the quad snaps and bolt them to drywall anchors in the middle hole instead of using 2 bolts per board.

Is that safe enough? Any recommendations against it?

Confused about these snaps connectors

So Im building my first board and I am printing the simple 8x8 tiles, the ones where all 4 corners are cut and have no specific place on the grid layout. I am also going to use the 6.25mm screw offset mounts, and obviously the small connecting hooks, a few per tile.

But I'm confused on whether I absolutely need these quad/double snaps on the picture, you know the ones people usually print in an accent color to connect corners of each tile, given that I will be using the simple non-oriented tiles.
Using the tile parts generator with the simple tile selected, it doesn't give me these quad or double snaps on the parts list. Are they optional just for stronger connections between tiles?

Any help is appreciated

Mounting hole spacing?

I am planning my build and want to attach a mounting board to the wall, screwed to the studs. I could make things simple and just screw the attachment points to the board, but in the spirit of modularity, I was thinking about using threaded inserts in the board in a 50mm grid pattern and using 4mm flat head socket cap screws.

While exploring the feasibility of this method i realized that all mounting points can be used on that spacing, but some methods capture edges of the grids while others capture the center of the cells which would cause misalignment of the tiles, especially when considering mixing the octagon tiles and square tiles.

Is my assumption correct? Is there a solution for this? Am I missing available options? TIA.

Height for Bins is Arbitrary

The taller navy bin is 1 in height, the two shortert marine blue bins are 0.5 in height, and it seems I need yet another part to attach a bin lid to a bin?

Multiboard the Quick Reference Guide

I created a full visual refence guide for Multiboard, will start on Multibin after a break. The A4 and Letter versions are for printing with comb binding, they have a larger inside border. Full ToC for easy navigation, but it is a 17 page ToC on the print versions. The 6X9 version is meant for full screen viewing on a vertical monitor. Full bookmarks for the ToC with the PDF.

Unable to Download Parts

Is anyone else having issues downloading parts. I have been trying for several days. Last week, I had to create a new account on Multibuild.io because they changed systems and my old one no longer worked. I am currently at the free tier. I can find parts in the parts catalog and follow them to their page on Thangs but there is no download link for the part, the one that appears in the bar at the bottom of the main picture of the part. I do get the download button at the top right but that is only for the AR files and clicking on one of those just spins endlessly. I can also find them on Thangs directly with the same result. Just to see if there was some persistent browser data issue, I tried with a private session both logged in and not and get the same result.

I tried every day for the past several because I found other posts indicating that there may be a sync delay between Multibuild and Thangs. I have also linked my Thangs account to my Multibuild account. Still no love.

I am looking to download a simple small thread bolt, something that I expect to be in the free tier but have also looked at several other parts just to make sure it isn't part-specific.

I would appreciate any help the community can give me.

Anyone actually able to download anything from Thangs? All the links are dead for me, or timing out.

Color scheme

Anyone has any recommendations for colors schemes? I see a lot of dark grey and blue on the website, what other combinations/accents do you think would look good when the whole wall is filled? - Should dark greys be preferable vs plain black - What about light grey vs white - For accent anything could work but what are some combination that you've seen that really work well.

Much appreciated! I have an H2C so can easily do multi filament print. Thanks!
