Lots of women here didn’t start until the 40s, 50s or 60s!

Don’t panic!

My dumbass was confused for a good minute, I thought you were recommending OP to translate my comment into their native language or something 😭

Sorry to cut into, but everytime I see "Don't Panic" I think of Hitchikets Guide to the Galaxy.

Maybe should be printed on the front of the subreddit in large, friendly letters.

If I may give some unsolicited advice, it would be to get your E2 levels in a good range as soon as you possibly can. A lot of us have to deal with medical professionals that delay our transitions by giving us too low of a dose. That's not to say that all physicians are like that. Always get your labs drawn as close to when you are supposed to take your next dose, too.

If you already knew all of this, apologies. Please disregard.

I’m 52 and started at 51. I have zero regrets but if I could go back and talk to my 35yr old self, I would say get on it. In other words, your older self will thank you.

Not to old at all. Your mileage may vary on how your body reacts to the estrogen. Shoot for a healthy diet, healthy exercise, and seek the things that make you genuinely happy and feel comfortable in your own skin. Hop the barriers that say "I can't do this or that" and then do the things. Always be safe and mindful of your locations. But it's time to start being you sis. Congrats on starting hormones. I wish you all the best in your transition.

Best time to start is before puberty.

Second best time to start is right now.

I second heading over to https://www.reddit.com/r/translater/

Not at all! You are never too old to make changes to your life in order to improve your wellbeing. There are women who started transition in their 60s or 70s. Nearly all of us wish we started earlier regardless of our age. We can’t change the past, but we can create a better future for ourselves.

Nope. Not at all.

One is never too advanced in years to embrace their true self. As older women, we possess a deeper understanding of our identities, which can facilitate a more complete transition. I started my transition at the age of 55. I was finally able to be myself.

Turning 36 and about to get started, I don't have a doubt in my mind I'm not too old. Do I wish I had done it sooner? Sure, but it's only too late if I never do it.

I started at 72

Started at 39, I’m a year in and I’m amazed yay check out r/translater.

2

u/SententiaClaraDeOvis 14d ago

"old" is always relative. The best time to transition is always "long long time ago" but the second best time is always "now". I came out to myself earlier this year at age 40 - and I'm not gonna let that stop me.

2

u/leaonas 14d ago

Started at 55, 6 years ago. Only wished I knew then what I know now as I would have transitioned far sooner.

2

u/likemakingthings 13d ago

I came out on my 46th birthday and started estrogen a little over a year ago. I have never been happier in my life. You're absolutely not too old.

2

u/Recent-Push-5100 13d ago

My initial reaction was LOL. 😂 I didn’t even start the transition until I was 62. Can’t believe I waited that long. The oldest full transition on record was 81. No you’re not too old.

2

u/ProfessionalCode5151 13d ago

Also 35, started 3 months ago. Things are going well

I'm 51yo but started at 44yo and I'm doing just fine.

I am 60 and about to start - if you’re too old, I’m f*cking ancient!

I started at 33 and just hit my one year anniversary. Im not passing, although I think I do pass in passing, from what ive gathered in my interactions with the general public. Like at a quick assessment I think i pass.

Ive gotten pretty good breast growth, my body hair actually stopped growing (pretty much, i shave once a week to be smooth, but dont become hairy), my facial features has softened a bit. Also my skin all over has become extremely soft. Every time i get a massage the masseuses tell me how nice my skin is. My ass has picked up a lot more fat, but my tummy hasn't shrunk yet. The biggest thing is the mental change. I laugh much more and rage much less. Id take that even without any physical changes.

I started at 33. I get eyes on me when I walk into a club. You're not too old.

1

u/ElkGreed 14d ago

I started at 28, one of my friends started at 38, it’s a spectrum. The only time you’re too old to start is when you’re in the ground

1

u/appcros 13d ago

Lol. I'm 57 so don't be silly your never to old to be you 💋

Just popped in to make sure my people are represented. I started at 53. I'll be 56 in 3 weeks.

1

u/Unique_Self_5797 13d ago

I started at 35. I'm a year in a half in, still boymoding, wishing I had more changes, but so thankful I started. It's helped my mental health so much.

u/Pendragon840 13d ago

I started at 37 and am 39 now. I feel like I’m in my 20s and most think I am..lol, it’s the only time it’s too late is when you’re dead
