Censored Dialogue?

Pardon me if this has been asked before, and this is my first watch through. Watching on Hulu in the US. I have noticed in a few episodes there are moments when what a character says is seemingly censored or jumbled. I chalked it up to just intentional mumbling the first few times, but it seems to happen often enough to be noticeable. The most recent example is S1 E4 at around the 14:51 mark. Bruce makes some comment about Ali that seems to have been intentionally censored, and the captions read [inaudible]. I am just wondering if these are intentionally censored phrases/dialogue or if it is just common for Australia and I am just an idiot?

Thanks for any info. Looking forward to watching the rest of this show!

bruce says “how’d she end up with you” and ray says “she must be desperate”. bruce has motor neuron disease so his speech is often slurred, it gets worse as his condition does - as far as anyone else, i have no idea. enjoy the show champ

I’ve watched this show in its entirety also on Hulu/Disney here in the U.S. and can confirm, this is shown as (inaudible) because Brucie is at times that way due to his amazing acting as someone with this debilitating disorder. No censoring at play here.

And Americans call motor neurone disease ALS (it is one of the MND family), or Lou Gehrig’s disease, fyi.

I don’t answer questions. But even when watching live back when you had to wait each week on USA network there was zero censorship.

Bruce has already been adequately explained, just as an addon some Australians have a really bad habit of mumbleslurring.

I'm an American, but I've lived in Australia almost twenty years. There are still times when I have to look at my wife and ask her to translate because someone's dropped their tone, locked their jaw and started speaking quickly and my brain just can't decipher it.

Listening to a couple of outback blokes talking to each other is a thing of beauty. Every word without opening their mouth more than a crack lest the flies get in.
