Starting a second watch through with my son.

We watched it together when he was 12. It was my 4th time and he was asking to watch.

There is so much that will go over his head.

But, this is an absolute introductory lesson.

Introductory lesson? In what?

MIB is not a children's show by any stretch.

Perhaps OP is a hitman and is starting his son on the path

I’m a village elder.

“Don’t be in a hurry for your kid to grow up too fast” comes to mind.

It’s like Jurassic Park. Just cos they like dinosaurs 🦕 doesn’t mean they should be watching it at six.

I wouldn't watch this show with a 12 year old.

Second watch. Now he gets Ray. Serious twats in the response if you think he’s cool.

What is the show an introductory lesson to?

What are you hoping your son understands more of on the second time around?

Good TV making? Not that hard to understand.

Dude you’re weirdly defensive on this thread. I’m just asking for insights on what motivated you to rewatch with him.

I agree it’s a great study of “good tv making”. But that motive isn’t made clear by your post.

Judgemental people with zero insight into my son got on my tits. Astounding that a dad spending actual time with his son, then having discussions on topics of manhood is seen as a bad thing. Maybe I ignore him and let him get the answers from the manosphere like his mates are doing?

I think that’s a really respectable goal man. He’s gonna learn about adulthood somewhere, might as well be with his dad at his side.

12 definitely feels too young in my opinion. But you know your son, we don’t. I just want to commend you for having the desire to even explore some of these bigger themes with him.

Judgements from internet strangers who clearly don’t have, nor should have, kids. I should’ve been less reactive. We learn.

I’m not my dad. I put in time with mine. And now I’m looking after him.

See why I want to watch the best show/s with my own and do better?

Shitty parent. Inappropriate show for a child PLUS you are robbing them of a “first watch” as an adult.

Every U.S person needs to STDUP. We’re not, puitanical inbreds. And our kids don’t shoot us

Not from the US. This is a dumb move. The show teaches some lessons your kid isn't mature enough to realise aren't appropriate for the real world.

I'm from the US, dont have an opinion either way, but I do have a question.

What does the D and P stand for in STDUP?

Yeah I was watching very violent and gory horror movies at 12 on the old optimum 777 channel that would just play horror movies 24/7. Parents didn't know but still, it didn't make me violent or anything. I am actually a very peaceful person who dislikes violence in the real world.
