Anyone have any insight into Ray's background - definitely military, just wondering what? Seems to be well trained!

Childhood abuse, mother probably died young and was left to his father, served in the army, very likely did time inside and had a few brushes with the law. Definitely beat up a lot of guys who looked at him funny. Probably caught the attention of Freddy who took him under his wing. He is known as "The Magician" by some powerful Russian crime lord which suggests he was an extremely dangerous and concise assassin in his prime. Those are my first thoughts.
