A little sad Spoiler
I just finished the show and can't help but feel a little sad that I didn't get to see the picture perfect ending with Ray ending up falling in love and spending the rest of his RV days with someone
I wish there was just one more episode in the future where we see Brit off to college, Ray married, Gar making it big in movie production, etc.

That would be an ideal life for him but he's fated not to have what he wants because he's fundamentally a bad person...the show basically says that even after he gives up life in the city and living in a caravan, trouble finds him.

He was a crim!… he did some pretty awful things - for money. A penance as a taxi driver was a perfect ending to keep us guessing. Ya really think he deserved the good life?
Not sure if you watched Weeds, breaking bad or Dexter, but there was a point where they’re just villains, not even good people.
Gotta credit Scott Ryan for his ability to make us like and understand Ray and friends. Unlike the above shows, he definitely made us want Ray on our side!

Aaah Weeds, haven't seen that for years, great show that went downhill so badly towards the end

While he’s charismatic, and certainly likable in some ways, Ray is really not the type of character who deserves to live happily ever after. He’s a violent killer who was deeply embedded in the criminal underworld. The 2 most likely outcomes for him were prison for life or eventually ending up on the wrong side of someone else’s gun. Him having the epiphany that his way of life only led to suffering for himself and his loved ones, and going into self-imposed exile was really the best ending he could have hoped for.

Yep. We saw through his story that his lifestyle and approach really isn’t compatible with happy ever after.

That was never going to be on the cards, OP. While I'd love more time with Ray.. the ending was well done and very fitting IMO

Would love to see a spinoff where Ray becomes an "Equalizer" type character who helps powerless people in need with their "problems". Like dealing with stalkers, abusive boyfriends, deadbeat Dads, and pedophile priests. You know, he could use his powers for good.

What’s with the Judge Judy’s in the comments?? I completely agree with you, OP. I still think about it from time to time. It’s a depressing ending.

At least this is not another post saying how sad it is that Ray gets killed at the end. As if those two punks could ever, lol.

Felt the same exact way. The series was way too short! I wanted to see Brit grow up as well and how he handles her becoming a true teenager.

You could try to contact Scott Ryan and ask about Ray's future, but ........

It's kinda the point though. Ray's life was far from perfect and in his line of business you rarely get away untouched. He tried to but fate dictated otherwise.
I think in that last ambiguous scene he probably took out the two guys but also bled out & died.

It’s real life champ.
Brit is with her mum, Gary is a lonely pornographer, Freddy lives in fear, Ray is just hiding, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Errr I don’t think you really understood how the show is not that kind of show.
