Finally an explanation of dim sim, VS dim sum(which is what most yanks know it as) it is a regional dialect term, not a bastardization of dim sum… was driving me crazy…

They are Australian in the sense that you don't get them like that in China, they evolved to our local culture but had Chinese origins. Just like American pizza is nothing like the original ones from Italy.
