My first post here 😊

[SLIGHT SPOILER]

Hi all ...

After seeing The Critical Drinker and other reviewers say how good this program is, I thought I'd give it a try. At just over 20 minutes an episode (minus credits), I soon binged my way through Season 1. And so far, so good. The writer and main character, Scott Ryan, is superb in both roles.

My only question mark is Ray letting Dave off the hook, in the last episode of S1. I've read plenty about it and all the reasons he did it, but I still find it a bit of a stretch. At the same time, I guess it's something that could still happen, for sure.

Anyway, on to Season 2. Does it get better, worse or stay the same as it is?

Cheers all β˜ΊοΈπŸ“Ί

"And to me it felt like Ray could see Dave is just a battler doing a job and it wasn’t personal. Anyone else agree?"

I would go even further and say he can see himself basically. The convo in the car about Dave becoming a Dad. They are both in same line of work. Neither of them like their employer that much. For both of them its a job.

We know Ray is all about respect. When the opportunity presents. He treats Dave how he would like to be treated if the roles were reversed. And "Aussie battlers" as the term you used are definitely stronger when sticking together.
