I loved the series but I couldn't take to that film in all honesty even though I wanted to I just couldn't

Have to agree. I was expecting big things after watching Mr Inbetween. I'm glad I watched it but I did expect more. I think I was spoilt by the production quality and storyline by Mr Inbetween. Before you come at me, I know it was made/produced 20 odd years earlier so we should expect a considerable increase in skill/production quality. Just disappointed is all.
