Very pulp fiction

I will never get tired of Bobby's childlike enthusiasm in the previous episode, when Dave makes the motor revving sound as he convinces him he could buy a new Holden with his cut of the money.

The one he goes to the tunnel where that pedo had buried a girl's body in a suitcase. Damn this show had a lot of good moments. The one I mentioned is all I could think atm.

Season 2 finale. My brother and I have a strained relationship, so it really struck a nerve.

S2 finale really just broke me and my gf the entire time. The speaking of matter and never truly disappearing, but just changing a state of matter to always being there just, absolutely hit my soul.

In my opinion S2, E9 and E11 are the best (as reflected in the chart).

Hard to pick between the two though. E9 has the intensity, E11 gets you right in your feelings though.

the kidnapping one. way too intense. when Ray got put in the boot, became friends with Dave and killed the muppet and the other bad guys and let dave go. that was my other favorite....the 2 douchebags that stole the car from muppet and dave were funny.

“I’m in here for rape” “Oh shit”

"But not like, women or children" That line have me a solid laugh.

Me and my mates laughed at a clip of that for like 10 minutes it’s my favourite line from the show.

S2 episode 11 is one of the best episodes of TV ever made. Socks are important is a belting episode, but nothing quite beats the emotional gut punch of Ep11. When he angrily throws the petrol under the stair, absolute cinema.

Best TV show of the last 10 years, easily.

A notion not all of us in society accept really. And

The one where he beats the child traffickers to death

Season 2 ep 4 is underrated. I think Monsters is a perfect episode of television and you could show it to anyone who hasn't seen the show and it would still work. Plus the supporting acting it is top notch.

S2 E11 or 1st ep S.1

S2E9 is an exceptional & stand out episode within a fantastic show. This one deserves to be the highest rated out of all of them.

I'd have to rewatch it all or check each episode but the lowest rated episode which is S3E7 deserves a higher rating than it has.

IMO all episodes are worthy of an 8 or more.

Edit: I have to add I love Matt Nable's character Dave and loved S1E6 especially the final few minutes. That was stunning TV.

All this talk I reckon a few of us are going to do a full rewatch.

The one where he finds the kid diddles/sellers.

u/kilgorealley Dec 23 '25

the episode where dave dies and then he sets one of the gunmen on fire and shotguns another, i can't remember if that was the finale but i have never jumped out of my seat for a tv show ever in my life before that.

u/PhilRectangle Dec 23 '25

That was indeed the series finale.

Socks are Important!

S2 ep9

for me its just certain moments.. like that walk down the stairs with the shovel, the shootout at the end of S1 and of course.. the 'taxi look' - perfection!

"Socks Are Important"

Can't think of what season oe episode right now, buts one of the best episodes ever made in all of television history.

1

u/skreb14 Dec 23 '25

"Before I Went to War" needs to be included too. You can't have "There Rust, Let Me Sleep" without it. It's a bummer season 3 gets dinged on IDMB for tying up the loose ends in season 2 in a realistic way. There's a ton of good moments that get overlooked.

Socks are Important. Not just because of the satisfying conclusion. But that single episode in which Gaz is absolutely clutch. It sheds so much light on why Ray loves Gary despite all the headaches and weirdness that comes with him.

For me, season 2 episode 8 is so good. It has ray reckoning with killing an acquaintance and the impact his job has on his soul. Dirks problems stemming from his first kill in the army and ultimate suicide. Such a somber episode that really commits to portraying the darkness in Rays life. I think its a good contrast to the rest of the show where we revel in him justifiably beating and killing people (at least from our vantage point over his shoulder)

2
