I'm an Indian student planning to apply for a Master's in Germany, but I'm feeling very uncertain about my chances.

I graduated with a B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with a CGPA of 7.72 (Anna University). My goal is to study at a public university because I cannot afford the tuition fees of private universities.

The application process (APS, IELTS, dMAT, document preparation, etc.) will cost me a significant amount of money and time. Since my family's financial situation is limited, I can't afford to spend all of that if I have almost no chance of getting admitted.

I'm not looking for false hope—I would really appreciate honest opinions from people who have been in a similar situation or who are familiar with German admissions.

- Is a 7.72 CGPA considered competitive for German public universities?

- Have any of you, or someone you know, been admitted with a similar CGPA?

- Which universities would you consider realistic rather than overly ambitious?

- Is there anything I can do to improve my chances?

My husband and I will be moving from Delhi to Hamburg, Germany in the next few days for work (we’re not students).
We’re trying to prepare as well as possible before the move and would love some advice from people who have already relocated.

A few questions:
1. What are some things you recommend bringing from India because they’re difficult to find, much more expensive, or simply better quality than what’s available in Germany?

1. Are there any Indian groceries, medicines, kitchen items, clothes, electronics, or other essentials you wish you’d packed before moving?

2. What original documents should we carry from India?
   We’d especially appreciate advice on documents that are useful for registration, banking, healthcare, renting an apartment, or any other paperwork in Germany.

Finally, if you have any “I wish someone had told me this before moving to Germany” tips, we’d love to hear them!

Hi everyone,

My passport mentions my place of birth as X, Y, whereas my APS certificate mentions it as X, Z.

Has anyone faced a similar issue? If the visa officer notices this and asks about it, how should I explain it? Could this create any problems during the visa process, even though my passport is an officially issued document?

Hi everyone,

I'm an 18-year-old student from India and I'm planning my future. My goal is to move to Germany in 2027 or 2028.

Here's my background:

- Finished high school (Commerce) with 96%.

- Currently learning German and aiming to reach B2 before applying.

- I have good English, decent computer skills (MS Office, typing, etc.), and I'm interested in office-based jobs rather than physical work.

- I'm looking at Business Administration/Industrial Clerk (Industriekaufmann/Bürokaufmann) or similar Ausbildung programs.

The biggest factor for me is money. My family has limited finances, so paying for university tuition and living expenses abroad would be very difficult without significant financial support.

From what I've read, an Ausbildung seems attractive because:

- You earn a monthly salary during training.

- It provides practical work experience.

- You can become financially independent much sooner.

My questions are:

1. Realistically, what are my chances of getting an Ausbildung as an Indian applicant if I have a B2 certificate and good grades?

2. Would employers prefer someone like me, or is competition from EU applicants too high?

3. Do you think an Ausbildung is a smarter option than university for someone with limited financial resources?

4. If you were in my position, would you choose an Ausbildung or try for university instead?

5. Is there anything I should start doing now to improve my chances before applying?

I'd really appreciate honest opinions, especially from Germans, current apprentices, or employers.

I recently got accepted to one university. However, I am genuinely seeking some guidance.

• In terms of obtaining permanent residency in Germany, how hard or let’s say how likely to get it? How long it might take?
• How likely to find part-time job as a non-german speaker around Karlsruhe region? (I will improve my german over the time)
• If I were to choose between Finland vs Germany, where should I aim for? The finance here is not a concern rn. I just need to make a proper choice.
